It folded to Johanssy Joseph in middle position who put in a raise to 160,000. The next player to act was Scott Kret who moved all in for about 775,000. It made it all the way back to Joseph who smiled as he contemplated his decision.
"Oh man..." Joseph said as he scratched his head. After a few moments he slowly and begrudgingly put in the chips and the cards hit their backs.
Scott Kret: 6?6?
Johanssy Joseph: 8?5?
The flop landed Q?A?8? and Joseph jumped into the lead. Kret stood up and started to gather his things until the dealer burned and turned the 6? and Kret got some life back. The river was a blank and Kret scooped.
Action was opened by Soheb Porbandarwala in early position to 160,000. Scott Kret was in middle position and flat called. It then made it to Soukha Kachittavong on the button who put in a large three-bet to 760,000.
It folded back to Porbandarwala who folded but Kret put in the back-four-bet jam having Kachittavong covered. Kachittavong called but got some bad news.
Soukha Kachittavong: 9?9?
Scott Kret: J?J?
The 4?10?10? flop was safe for Kret. No concern on the 4? turn but the 9? river landed and Kret had the wind taken right out of him.
Kachittavong got a massive double up and Kret was left crippled.
There was an early position open to 175,000 followed by a three-bet on the button by Soukha Kachittavong to 1,000,000. Ron Adams was in the blinds and put in the cold four-bet all in having Kachittavong covered. The original raiser folded and Kachittavong snap called.
Soukha Kachittavong: A?A?
Ron Adams: A?K?
The full board ran out 7?9?7?8?10? and Kachittavong would get a much needed double.
Adams would be left super short but would triple-up after his pocket deuces held in a three-way pot.
It folded to current chip leader Johanssy Joseph in the cutoff who opened to 140,000. It then made it to the player who is second in chips, Nhan Cao in the big blind who called and they were off to a flop heads up.
The 6?J?5? flop hit the felt and action checked to Joseph who continued for 160,000. Cao called.
The turn brought a 5? and action quickly checked through to a 7? river. Cao led out for 400,000 and Joseph went into the tank. After a few moments he put out a massive raise to 1,700,000.
Cao was in the blender. He talked it out but couldn't come to a conclusion that included more chips going into the middle. He found the fold and Joseph smiled as he dragged the pot.
Action was opened in early position to 120,000 by Scott Kret. The next player to act was Jeffrey Yanchek who moved all in off of a short stack. It folded all the way back to Kret who put in a call and the cards hit their backs.
Jeffrey Yanchek: 10?10?
Scott Kret: 9?9?
Yanchek was in great shape going to a flop until the dealer burned and turned the 8?J?9? and Kret jumped ahead with a set. Yanchek still had outs in the form of an open ender but unfortunately the turn 5? and river 4? would bring no help.
Action was opened in late position to 100,000 by Jeffrey Yanchek. Ron Adams called that bet from the cutoff and then action made it to Johanssy Joseph in the big blind who put in a three-bet to 375,000. Yanchek folded but Adams stuck around.
The 4?10?5? hit the felt and Joseph continued for 425,000. Adams called.
The 10? turn was put out and Joseph kept his foot on the gas with a bet of 625,000. Adams called again.
The 3? landed on the river and Joseph took his time and eventually landed on a bet of 1,000,000. Adams tanked for over three minutes and then announced a fold.
Joseph scooped after the first million chip bet of the final table.
