Eric Tumbioro Eliminated in 16th Place ($2,296)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

"Uncle" Bob De Wolfe has done it again. By that we mean he's crushed the dreams of yet another young player. This time it was Eric Tumbioro, and it was the result of a rather brutal beat.

It began when De Wolfe limped from middle position and then called when Tumbioro shoved for 32,000 from the small blind.

Tumbioro: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
De Wolfe: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Tumbioro woke up with the granddaddy of all hands, and he was primed to double right back into contention. The {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop seemed harmless enough, but the {3-Hearts} turn didn't as it gave De Wolfe an open-ended straight draw.

Much to Tumbioro's dismay, and the surprise of the rest of the table, the {7-Spades} peeled off on the river to complete it. A crestfallen Tumbioro exited in 16th place and will take home $2,296 for his performance.

Shawn Rodwell Eliminated in 17th Place ($2,296)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We missed the hand as it unfolded, but we do know that Shawn Rodwell got his chips all in on the turn with a board reading {6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Rodwell held the {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a set, but he needed the board to pair as Bob De Wolfe had flopped a flush with the {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

The {2-Clubs} river didn't do it, and a shellshocked Rodwell was ousted in 17th place.

"You're a maniac," someone at the table told De Wolfe, who simply smiled.

A Cooler of a Hand

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We heard a commotion over at Table 2 and made out way over to see what it was all about. We missed the betting, but we do know all the chips got in on the river with a board reading {9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Thomas Babiarz held the {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a full house, but it was no good as Louis Aquilina had quads with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Ship the double to Aquilina.

Big Slick Does the Trick for Snell

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After Nicholas Walker opened for 18,000 from the hijack and Jerry Calvaneso called from the cutoff, Ray Snell moved all in for 135,000 more from the button. The blinds folded, as did Walker, and then Calvaneso made a quick call.

Calvaneso: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Snell: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

"Yes," Snell whispered under his breath when the {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop gave him the lead. The {10-Hearts} turn meant he just needed to dodge a jack on the river to double, which is exactly what he did when the {8-Diamonds} blanked.

Joseph Elia Eliminated in 18th Place ($2,296)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Earlier in the series, Joseph Elia won the WNY Poker Challenge Event #2 for $14,364. He no doubt had high hopes for another title, but they were just crushed by Thomas Babiarz.

It happened when Elia raised from middle position and Babiarz three-bet to 48,000 from the big blind. Elia responded by moving all in for 155,000 more, and Babiarz, who didn't have much more than that, made the call.

Babiarz: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Elia: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Elia was in a dominating position and primed to double big, but then the flop came out {7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Babiarz hit a set and Elia was devastated. The {5-Hearts} turn changed nothing, and neither did the 4d} river. The stacks were verified, and indeed Elia has barely outchipped.

"Good game guys," he mustered before taking his leave in 18th place for $2,296.

John Aga Eliminated in 19th Place ($2,119)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Not long after being crippled when his pocket tens lost to the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of Johannes Mueller, John Aga moved all in for roughly 40,000 under the gun. When action reached Greg Miller in the small blind, he moved all in over the top and the big blind folded.

Aga: {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Miller: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Aga actually took the lead on the {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop, but it was only temporary as the {K-Spades} turn gave it right back to Miller. The {J-Clubs} river failed to change a thing, and Aga was sent to the rail in 19th place, which means it's time for the two-table redraw.
