The MSPT Season 10 Player of the Year Race is in its home stretch and right now Mike Shin holds a healthy lead over both Adam Friedman and Matt Kirby.
At the end of the calendar year, the top-ranked player will receive POY recognition and a $10,000 Main Event buy-in for 2020.
With just a few stops remaining, Shin holds a big lead in the Player of the Year race. His 5,400 points are well ahead of Friedman, who is his next closest competition with 3,500 points.
Shin has amassed 10 MSPT cashes in 2019 which includes winning the MSPT Majestic Star back in January for $68,593 and finishing third in the MSPT Venetian over the summer for $334,000. That was the second-largest score of his career behind the $427,930 he received for finishing 12th in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Steve Belland opened the action with a raise to 15,000 from middle position and action folded around to Paul Camby, who defended his big blind. The flop fell and both players checked.
Camby fired out a bet of 18,000 on the turn and Belland called. The river came and Camby bet again, sliding out a stack of T1,000 chips about 25,000 tall. Belland quickly tossed a chip in the middle to call.
Camby showed for a rivered pair of threes and Belland tabled for a pair of queens, good to earn him the pot.
There was around 60,000 in the middle on a board reading and Gerald Siemienas had checked from the big blind to put action onto William Durkin, who bet 25,000 from middle position. Siemienas thought for a few moments and called.
The river came and both players checked to take the hand to showdown.
Siemienas showed for a pair of nines and Durkin tabled , good to earn him the pot with his pair of queens.
Abraham Beddaoui shoved all in for around 70,000 from under the gun and received action from Hassan Tahsildar, who was on the button.

The coin flip situation was about all Beddaoui could ask for before the flop, though his postflop wishes would not be fulfilled as the board ran out , resulting in him hitting the rail as Tasildar saw a pot sent his way that brings him over a quarter-million.
