Henderson Snaps Off Mcmaster

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Dedric Henderson
Dedric Henderson

Derek Mcmaster opened to 325,000 in the hijack and Dedric Henderson called him in the small blind. The two went to a flop of {q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn came {7-Diamonds} and Henderson checked. Mcmaster bet 425,000 and Henderson called. The river fell {j-Spades} and Henderosn checked again. Mcmaster ade a bet of 650,000 and Henderson immediately tossed in a chip to call.

"You got it, nice call," said Mcmaster, hesitant to table his hand. Henderson didn't show, so Mcmaster turned over {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for nothing but a king. Henderson tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and took down the pot with his pair of eights, bringing him over and reclaiming the chip lead in the process.

"DQ Dan" Gets There Again

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Daniel Hendrickson got his last 975,000 in from the big blind before the flop against Derek Mcmaster, who was on the button.

Daniel Hendrickson: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Derek Mcmaster: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} to give Hendrickson a gutshot straight draw and Mcmaster a flush draw. Hendrickson needed to hit a straight or a ten to stay alive and the turn {9-Diamonds} gave him the straight. He then faded Mcmaster's flush draw on the river {6-Diamonds} to stay alive and climb back over 2 million.

"DQ" Dan Henderson saw action folded to him in the small blind and brought the price to play up to 500,000. Dedric Henderson was in the big blind and defended.

The flop dropped {2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Hendrickson made a continuation-bet of another 500,000. Henderson called. The turn came {6-Spades} and Hendrickson checked.

"Five," said Henderson, sliding forward another stack of T25,000 chips. Hendrickson thought about his decision for about 20 seconds and folded, leaving himself around 1 million behind as Henderson chipped up to 3.125 million.

Derek Mcmaster saw action folded to him in the small blind and completed. Umut Ozturk was in the big blind and checked his option, taking action to a flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Mcmaster bet 120,000 and Ozturk announced a raise to 300,000.

"I'm gonna raise," said Mcmaster. He threw out a three-bet to 950,000 and Ozturk quickly folded. Mcmaster tabled {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to show the goods with a flopped flush and took down the pot.

Kevin Boyer Eliminated in 6th Place ($19,227)

Kevin Boyer
Kevin Boyer

Action folded around to Derek Mcmaster in the small blind and he announced he was all in. Kevin Boyer quickly called off his remaining 1 million or so.

Mcmaster turned over his cards upon hearing the call and was met with Boyer saying, "Nice hand."

Kevin Boyer: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Derek Mcmaster: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Boyer was unable to hit a three outer and no clubs came to the rescue either as the board came {3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, resulting in him being the next to hit the rail. Meanwhile, Mcmaster has extended his chip lead and now finds himself with over 4.5 million.

Hendrickson Gets It In Bad, Doubles

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 20,000 ante
Daniel Hendrickson
Daniel Hendrickson

Daniel Hendrickson raised all in from the hijack for 1.21 million and action folded around to Derek Mcmaster, who was in the small blind.

"This is going to be the hand where Derek doubles me," said Hendrickson. Mcmaster looked at one card and announced he was not going to be making the call. He looked at the other card and then quickly folded.

"Call," said Kevin Boyer immediately afterwards from the big blind. The table erupted.

"This is going to be the hand where the kid busts me," correct Hendrickson from his prior statement. Hands were tabled.

Daniel Hendrickson: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Kevin Boyer: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Hendrickson was incorrect to his own benefit as the board ran out {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Spades} to give him a set of fives on the flop that stayed ahead and scored him the improbable double.

Boyer then found himself down to 570,000 but doubled on the next hand through Nathan Fair when is {k-}{q-} got there against Fair's {a-}{9-} to bring him back up to 1.36 million and leave Fair as the short one.

Ozturk Wins Small Blind-on-Blind Battle

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 20,000 ante

Action folded around to Kevin Boyer in the small blind and he pumped it up to 250,000. Umut Ozturk defended his big blind and the two went to a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

Boyer checked to Ozturk, who put out a bet of 250,000. Boyer thought for less than 10 seconds and then sent his cards to the muck.

Moments later, Boyer took down a pot with a turn bet of 300,000 into a pot of around twice that size on a board of {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. He was on the button and forced Daniel Hendrickson out of the pot from the big blind.

Kevin Boyer saw action folded to him on the button and opened to 250,000. Umut Ozturk was next to act in the small blind and three-bet all in for 1.07 million.
