2021 MSPT Showdown Series
Luke Nguyen opened for 24,000 under the gun and three-time WSOP bracelet winner Adam Friedman three-bet to 35,000 next to act.
Action folded back to Nguyen and he four-bet to 185,000, which prompted Friedman to five-bet jam. Nguyen had 510,000 total and called off only to discover he was on the bad end of a cooler.
Luke Nguyen:
Adam Friedman:
Nguyen was looking to get lucky, but that didn't happen as the board ran out clean to send him to the rail in 44th place for $3,009. Meanwhile, Friedman collected the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

Just before the break, Antonio Modacure got his stack of approximately 120,000 all in preflop against Jesse Jones.
Antonio Modacure:
Jesse Jones:
Modacure was ahead and looking to dodge an ace, but that proved easier said than done as the flop came down to pair Jones.
That said, Modacure did pick up a heart flush draw, but he would miss as both the turn and river bricked. Modacure finished in 52nd place for $2,682.

Action folded to Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler in the small blind and he moved all in for 90,000, the exact same amount Duane Anderson had in the big. Anderson looked down at his hand and must have liked what he saw as he made the call.
Duane Anderson:
Allen Kessler:
Kessler was dominated and failed to get lucky as the board ran out clean for Anderson.
With that, Kessler exited in 57th place for $2,486, which marked the fourth MSPT cash of his career.

Allen Kessler got his last 49,000 all in preflop and was at risk against Eli Loewenthal.
Allen Kessler:
Eli Loewenthal:
Kessler was ahead but the flop made things interesting by giving Loewenthal a heart flush draw. Fortunately for "Chainsaw", neither the turn nor river proved harmful and he shipped the double.
