"How Many Aces?"

Devinsky doubles.
Devinsky doubles.

Hao Le opened to 65,000 from under the gun - his standard raise - and the action folded to Mike Devinsky in the small blind. Devinsky tanked for quite some time before three-betting to 210,000, leaving just 250,000 behind. Kevin Kaikko was about to act in the big blind, when Le abruptly blurted, "all in."

The dealer informed Le that it was not his turn to act, and then Kaikko folded his hand. Le then moved all in, and Devinsky immediately called.

"How many aces do you have?" Devinsky joked.

]Showdown
Devinsky: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Le: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

"All in for my tournament life!" Devinsky announced to the room.

The {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop was clean, and the {8-Hearts} on the turn blocked one of Le's outs. All Devinsky had to do was dodge a non-heart ten, and he did when the {9-Hearts} hit the river.

"I just need to win my all ins," Devinsky professed.

Hung Truong Eliminated in 15th Place ($11,492)

Hung Troung 15th Place.
Hung Troung 15th Place.

Anthony Zinno opened the pot in late position and was called by Hung Truong in the small blind and Manh Nguyen in the big blind.

The flop came {2-Spades} {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} and all three players checked. The turn brought the {Q-Hearts}, Truong checked, Nguyen bet 80,000 and Zinno folded. Truong announced all in and Nguyen leaned forward in his chair. "I have a full house," Nguyen said.

Nguyen took a few moments after Truong didn't react and then announced call. Nguyen tabled {2-Hearts} {2-Clubs} and Truong held his cards. The dealer peeled off the {2-Diamonds} on the river, giving Nguyen quads and Truong tossed his cards in the muck.

Rohde Doubles Through Devinsky

Danny Rohde almost at 1,000,000.
Danny Rohde almost at 1,000,000.

Danny Rohde opened the action with a raise to 35,000 in early position. Mike Devinsky raised to 80,000 behind him and action passed to Hao Le on the button. Le called the 80,000, the blinds released and Rohde shoved for 420,000.

Action was back on Devinksy and he flatted. Le wasted no time getting out of the way and the hands were tabled.

Devinsky: {K-Spades} {K-Clubs}
Rohde: {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}

As the dealer went the spread the flop there was a jack in the window giving Rohde the lead in the hand. The board ran {3-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {J-Spades} {7-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and Rohde's set gave him a near seven-figure stack.

Riggs Eliminates Logue 18th Place & Spiro Stathakis 17th Place ($9,486)

Richard Logue moved all in from the button with his short stack and Larry Riggs called from the small blind. Action passed to Spiro Stathakis in the big blind and he surprised everyone when he too announced all in. Riggs had them both covered and called. Stathakis had more chips than Logue. The hands were tabled and they were off to the races.

Logue: {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades}
Stathakis: {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades}
Larry Riggs: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

The board ran {2-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {J-Hearts} and Riggs made a queen high straight and sent two players packing. Stathakis gets 17th place because he had Logue outchipped at the start of the hand.

Better Late Than Never

Tuan Phan was our chip leader entering the day, and decided to arrive fashionably late. Since arriving, he's put the petal to the metal in true Phan style however.

Spiro Stathakis opened to 35,000 from early position and the action folded to Phan who called in the big blind. The flop came down {3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, and Phan checked, asking Stathakis, "Do you like your hand?"

Stathakis didn't respond, rather he continued for 55,000.

"All in," Phan said forcefully.

Stathakis thought for a second before mucking, and Phan pulled in the pot.
