Welcome to the Table, Sir

Level 23 : 7,000/14,000, 2,000 ante
Sean Moore
Sean Moore

Sean Moore's carry-over penalty has just expired, and he's back in the game. Last night, just a couple hands before the end of play, he was given an orbit off for exposing a hole card while mucking.

On his first hand back in action, he open-shoved from late position, earning himself the blinds and antes. That right there makes up for the whole orbit he missed.

Niyati's Double Up Denied on River

Level 23 : 7,000/14,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Stanko opened for 30,00 and Pej Niyati called from the button. The blinds released and the flop fell {5-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds}. Stanko led out with 42,000 and Niyati raised to 137,000. Stanko thought for a moment and then announced all in.

Niyati made a pained expression and thought for a moment. Then he casually tossed chips for a call and the hands were tabled.

Niyati: {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}
Stanko: {A-Clubs} {2-Spades}

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and Niyati looked good to double up through the chipleader. Then the river paired the board with the {10-Spades} and they chopped the pot.

Stanko Draws First Blood on First Hand

Level 23 : 7,000/14,000, 2,000 ante

Pej Niyati opened for a raise and Scott Stanko four-bet from the button. The blinds released and Niyati called. The flop came {6-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {7-Clubs}, Niyati checked and Stanko bet 85,000. Niyati called to see the {2-Spades} fall on the turn. Both players checked and the river came {3-Diamonds}.

Niyati led out with 107,000 and Stanko called after just a moment. Niyati tabled pocket eights but Stanko had him bested holding pocket jacks.

Charles Moore looks to add a second WSOPC ring to his trophy case.
Charles Moore looks to add a second WSOPC ring to his trophy case.

Only nine players remain of the 290 players that took to the felt for the World Series of Poker Circuit Council Bluffs Main Event. After a long day of action Scott Stanko bagged up 25% of the chips in play (1.48 million) and is the only player with a seven-figure stack.

Chasing Stanko are Stephen Ma (928,000), Pej Niyati (875,000) and Casey Cavanaugh (745,000). Charles "Woody" Moore is the only remaining player with a WSOPC gold ring - he won WSOPC Southern Indiana Main Event in 2010.

Rounding out the field are James Smith (465,000), Mark Bonsack (283,000), Sean Moore (278,000) and Jeremy Jagoda (199,000).

We'll play down until we crown a new champion that will award him a seat in the $1 million National Championship freeroll in Las Vegas, a shiny gold ring and $101,266. Follow all the WSOPC action live on Pokernews.com and watch the live streaming final table on WSOP.com.
