In the final hand before the break, Viktor Walter saw a flop with Zhong Chen and bet 21,000. Chen raised to 65,000 and Walter called. Both players checked the on the turn.
Walter quickly checked the on the river. Chen took around five seconds before splashing in four T-25,000 chips. Walter went deep in the tank and eventually got the clock called on him. The tournament director called down to one second and ruled the hand dead.
Walter called half a second after the final second was counted down and appeared briefly confused for a second. However, his call was outside the allocated time and Chen won the hand without showdown.
Walter flashed his but Chen didn't reciprocate and mucked his hand. Afterwards, the field went on their final 15-minute break of the night.

Fabian Gumz and Michael Sklenicka had both checked their blinds and Anton Morgenstern bet 45,000 from the cutoff. Gumz quickly let his hand go and Sklenicka made the call.
The river completed the board with the to pair the board. Sklenicka checked again. Morgenstern glanced at the board and his opponent before looking at his cards again. He took a few seconds to consider his options before betting 80,000. Sklenicka contemplated for a while and Morgenstern sipped his drink while waiting for Sklenicka to decide. In the end, Sklenicka opted to fold.
"I had a good hand!" Morgenstern claimed.

Zhong Chen shoved it in from early position for 51,000 and Moritz Dietrich came over the top for a little under 100,000. Anton Morgenstern announced "gamble" and called as well from the big blind.

Everyone had something to root for preflop, but it was Morgenstern who all but sealed it after the flop. Moritz was drawing dead after the turn, but Chen found a lifeline and jolted from his seat in anticipation.
The fell on the river to complete his backdoor flush, and Chen pumped his fist and celebrated loudly. The rest of the table, including Morgenstern, could appreciate Chen's good-natured spirit and celebrated along with the Dutchman.
