Day 3 Completed

Its All Over -- Sally Anne Boyer is Your Ladies Champion!

Sally Anne Boyer moves all in with {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and gets called by Anne Heft with {k-Spades}{10-Spades}. The flop gives Sally a lot of outs, {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, but the turn {8-Clubs} left her drawing pretty thin. The river hits Sally right where she needs it, {2-Spades}, and Sally Anne Boyer is your new Ladies No Limit Hold'em champion. Sally Anne will go back to Utah, and show her bracelet off. Congrats Sally! Sally wins $262,077, a coveted WSOP gold bracelet, and a special Corum watch.

"My Turn"

The slow tournament has turned into a thrill a minute, as each player takes turns moving in. On this hand, Sally Boyer moves in with K-8, and gets called by Anne, who shows Q-10. The flop brings two eights, and the swell of emotion goes back to Sally Anne Boyer -- your new chip leader at 1.7 million.

Sally Gets Sassy

Sally Boyer has taken complete control of the heads-up match early, moving in nearly every hand, and gaining momentum and chips. Sally has gotten herself back to almost even in chips 1.295 milllion to 1.29 million.

Down to Heads-Up

Amazingly, we went from a tournament that would never end to heads-up play in the matter of about 25 minutes. When heads-up play began, the chip counts were:

Anne Heft 1.6 million
Sally Anne Boyer 985,000

Anne Heft sort of hung around, and hung around, and kept about an average stack going throughout the slow stages of this final table, and in what seemed like a flash, she suddenly had her opponent outchipped pretty seriously.

Two Hands Later -- Quad Damage!!

Randi Calabro, who admitted in her post-match interview that she was fired from her job for not showing up to work today, now has $106,177 to buy groceries and pay the rent. In a blind-on-blind confrontation, Sally Anne Boyer moved all in from the small blind with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and Randi Calabro insta-called when she looked down at {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. The flop decided it all when it came {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Randi was out of a job and out of the tournament. Randi appealed to anyone who wanted to hire her in the Orlando area to do so...

The Hits Keep Coming -- Kathleen Gliva -- Fourth Place

Usually, after dinner break play slows down a bit as everyone is in a food coma. We apologize for the lack of chip counts, but literally the last three bustouts have occurred before the winning player can even stack the chips from the prior bustout. Sally Anne Boyer moved in with {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and ran into Kathleen Gliva, who called for all her chips with {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. The board came jack high with only one club, and after losing one player in four hours, we lost our third player in five hands. Kathleen Gliva, fourth place -- $70,216

Shocking Development -- Katja Thater -- Fifth

Katja Thater got a bit unlucky when her {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} ran into Anne Heft's {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The flop brought Katja some outs for a chop when it came {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. The turn, {9-Diamonds}, didn't help but did bring more outs for a chop -- but alas it was not meant to be as the river was the {8-Spades}. Katja was by far the most agressive and skilled of the final table participants, but ultimately...just couldn't fade the cards. Katja Thater -- fifth place -- $49,151. We will see more of Katja down the road.
