Robbing Them Blind

Dario Alioto raised to 90,000 -- not quite the maximum allowed (105,000) -- and claimed the blinds.

On the next hand, Daniel Makowsky raised pot to 105,000, and that got him the blinds.

That's a 45,000-chip profit each time that works.

Check-Raisin' Kloeckner

Kyle Kloeckner completed from the small blind, and Jacobo Fernandez checked from the big blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Kloeckner checked, and Fernandez bet 60,000, and Kloeckner check-raised to 225,000. After a bit of stewing, Fernandez let it go.

Rail Talk

Gavin Smith is sitting in the crowd, enjoying a drink. He just got into a conversation with Nolan Dalla who popped into the arena. The only line we heard came from Smith was him calling Dalla a, “Sexy son of a b***h."

Makowsky Doubles Up Through Kloeckner

The table folded to Daniel Makowsky who completed from the small blind. Kyle Kloeckner then raised 60,000 more from the big blind. Makowsky responded by announcing he was reraising all in, although it was determined he couldn't quite to that. Rather, the reraise was to 270,000, meaning it would take 180,000 for Kloeckner to call.

Kloeckner went ahead and reraised it, allowing Makowsky to put the rest in.

Makowsky showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}, while Kloeckner had {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

The board came {3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, giving Makowsky two pair. The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, giving Kloeckner a flush draw. The river was the {4-Spades}, and Makowsky doubled up.

Makowsky is now up over 560,000. Meanwhile, Kloeckner has slipped under 400,000.

More Final Table Thievery

First Layne Flack, then Jacobo Fernandez, then Flack again stole the blinds. That's six straight hands where just a single preflop raise did the job.

With blinds of 15,000/30,000, blind-stealing is becoming more lucrative.

Flops Unneeded

Layne Flack opened with a raise from under the gun, and everyone folded.

Ted Forrest opened with a raise from middle position, and everyone folded.

Jacobo Fernandez opened with a raise from the button, and the blinds folded.

Guzzardi Survives Again

After a hand in which Kyle Kloeckner raised to 72,000 taking the blinds, the following hand took place.

Michael Guzzardi raised pot to 84,000, and it folded around to Daniel Makowsky who repotted it. Guzzardi called with his remaining chips.

Guzzardi: {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Makowsky: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}

The flop came {2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, giving Guzzardi a straight. The turn was the {6-Clubs}, and Guzzardi was still ahead, though Makowsky had picked up a flush draw. The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and Guzzardi doubled up to over 280,000.

We believe that's the third all-in which Guzzardi has survived tonight.

Alioto Adds to Stack

Jacobo Fernandez limped, Ted Forrest completed from the small blind, and Dario Alioto checked from the big blind. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and Forrest quickly bet 60,000. Alioto called, and Fernandez folded.

The turn brought the {A-Spades}. Forrest slid out two stacks -- 160,000. Alioto stood up to get a better look at Forrest's chips, then sat back down to think. Finally he extracted 160,000 from his impressive fortress of chips and made the call.

The river brought the {7-Hearts}, and both quickly checked.

Forrest showed 8-7-x-x for eights and sevens, but Alioto had A-8-x-x for the better two pair.
