Congratulations to J.C. Tran - Champion of Event #49 ($631,170)

J.C. Tran - 1st Place
J.C. Tran - 1st Place
Things have come to a close here at the ESPN Final table. Rasmus Nielsen, who at one point had a 6:1 chip lead over the remaining players has taken second place and took home $389,557 for his three days of work.

J.C. Tran continues to have an amazing run here at the World Series of Poker. Tran came in to the final table with second in chips and the two of these players duked it out for the majority of the day. Once the heads up battle began, Tran slowly started to inch his way out into the lead. After more than seventy hands heads up, Tran took first place, netting $631,170 for his work as well his first WSOP gold bracelet.

Rasmus Nielsen - 2nd Place
J.C. Tran raised to 215,000, and Rasmus Nielsen called.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Nielsen checked, Tran bet 275,000, and Nielsen called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds}. Nielsen checked again, and this time Tran bet 900,000. Nielsen moved all in right away, and Tran called.

Tran {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Nielsen {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Tran did have Nielsen covered, so Nielsen needed a jack or his day was done.

The river came the {2-Spades}! Rasmus Nielsen takes 2nd for $389,557, and J.C. Tran has won his first WSOP bracelet!

Limped pot. The flop came {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Rasmus Nielsen bet 100,000, and J.C. Tran called.

The turn was the {J-Spades}. Nielsen checked, and Tran bet 150,000 -- a little over a third of the pot. Nielsen didn't like the look of it, and let it go.

"600 I call," said Nielsen with a smile afterwards.

Hand #185: J.C. Tran

Rasmus Nielsen limped, and J.C. Tran checked.

Flop {7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Tran checked, Nielsen bet 100,000, and Tran called. The turn was the {A-Diamonds}, and both checked. The river was the {10-Clubs}. Tran bet 200,000, and Nielsen called.

Tran showed {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens, and Nielsen mucked.

Hand #184: Rasmus Nielsen

J.C. Tran limped, and Rasmus Nielsen checked. The flop came {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Tran bet 100,000, Nielsen raised to 300,000, and Tran folded.

A bit of momentum for Nielsen here, who showed a king as he dragged the pot.
