Marty Smyth has the button in Seat 8. Michael Mizrachi calls first from middle position. Billy Argyros limps as well, as does [Removed:14] in the small blind. Action is on Kido Pham, and he raises the field from the big blind. Mizrachi is the only caller, and it's heads up the rest of the way.

Flop: {Q-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {10-Hearts}. Pham checks, and The Grinder seizes the opportunity to bet 300,000. Pham makes the call.

The turn is the {6-Clubs}. Pham pauses for a moment and then checks. Mizrachi moves all in, standing up to await his fate. He has Kido slightly covered, and the winner of this pot would be the big chip leader regardless of the outcome.

The two men engage in a little brief chatter, and Pham throws his head back, tortured by the decision he faces. After a few minutes of standing, Mizrachi's legs apparently get a little tired. He sits back down and again the two men exchange some more short conversation. From the rail, The Grinder's wife catches her man's eye and holds one finger up to her mouth in the, "Shhh" gesture.

After at least seven or eight solid minutes of time in the tank, Kido reaches his fist across the table, and he and Mizrachi bump knuckles in a friendly gesture. Kido then stands up, thinks for another brief minute, and finally says, "I call." The hands are turned up:

The Grinder is well-ahead and has Kido Pham on the brink of elimination. Kido needs to catch another ace or a jack to stay alive. The river brought no such help though; the {6-Spades} seals Pham's fate, and sends him to the exit in sixth place. He will pocket more than $170,000 for his work over the past three days.

Peter Jetten has the button in Seat 3. Marty Smyth raises the pot, putting out 175,000 chips. Michael Mizrachi makes the call from the small blind, and it's man-against-man to the flop.

Flop: {J-Hearts} {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Mizrachi bets 300,000, and Smyth very quickly moves all in for another 90,000 on top. The Grinder splashes in the call, and the hands are turned over.

Mizrachi: {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Clubs}
Smyth: {J-Spades} {9-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}

Smyth is at risk of elimination and trailing, but he does have a big straight flush draw. The turn is a useless {8-Hearts}, and Smyth is down to his last card. The dealer burns and turns:

Marty Smyth gets a stay of execution, finding a third jack on the river and doubling his way up to 1,400,000 chips.

We've had yet another admonition against flash photography after several flashes went off when Peter Jetten's huge river call a few hands ago turned out to be a winner. "Just for you guys that don't know, a 'flash' is that burst of light that comes out of your camera when you take a picture," explained MC Robbie Thompson. "Don't do it."

The flop is {2-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {6-Spades}. Both players check to see the {2-Diamonds} on the turn. Check, check again. The river {9-Diamonds} completes any diamond flushes. Mizrachi checks a third time, but not Billy The Croc. He bets 80,000. Mizrachi folds.

The flop comes {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. Both players check.

Fourth street: {3-Diamonds}. Pham bets 80,000, and Jetten makes the call fairly quickly.

The river brings the {4-Clubs}. Pham checks, and again Jetten gives him a full stare down before counting out a bet of 125,000 and pushing it forward. Pham doesn't appear to like it, but after a minute, he announces, "Raise the pot." It's a total of 635,000, and it is enough to put Jetten all in and at risk if he calls. Jetten appears to be in agony over the decision, gazing up at the ceiling and muttering to himself unintelligibly. After what seems like an eternity -- at least six or seven minutes -- he finally makes the call, at risk of being knocked out if he's wrong.

Jetten shows down his hand: {Q-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds}. He makes a six-high straight, prompting Pham to re-check his cards. After careful studying, he sees he's beat and throws his hand into the muck. The dealer pushes a big pile of chips right past Kido Pham, into the stack of Peter Jetten, who has doubled up.

All four players check the {2-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} flop. Harroch fires first, for 175,000, when the turn comes off {3-Spades}. Pham goes into the tank. He has two players behind him yet to act, and one in front who has bet almost the full pot. After a minute, he decides his best play is a raise to 650,000. He's right; everyone else folds.
