Guzman Gets 3/4

Thang Luu raised it up and George Guzman announced "This is it!" as he three-bet from the button. It was folded to Luu, who called.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Luu bet before Guzman pushed the last of his chips into the middle. Luu called showing {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} but was in trouble as Guzman showed a monster with his {3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

The turn landed the {9-Clubs} and river brought the {A-Diamonds} to make Guzman a straight flush for the high and they chop the low with the wheel.

There was some confusion as the dealer pushed the entire put towards Guzman but Luu quickly jumped out of his chair and grabbed the cards before they were mucked to clarify that he indeed collected a quarter of the pot!

James Pritchard Doubles Up

Just before the hand, we overhead TJ Cloutier tell one of James Pritchard's sweaters that, "He needs to pick a hand he likes and put his chips in."

Apparantly he found his hand. The betting was capped preflop between James Pritchard and Spencer Lawrence. The last bet was enough to put Pritchard all in.

Pritchard: {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} {K-Spades} {8-Clubs}
Lawrence: {2-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

Board: {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}

Pritchard's three eights are enough to double him up to around 400,000 in chips.

Cloutier exclaims, "And he wins the hand!"

Lawrence Over a Million Chips

Spencer Lawrence made it three bets to go preflop and received a call from George Guzman.

Guzman bet the flop of {10-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs} and received a call from Lawrence. When the turn of the {8-Spades} fell, Guzman checked and Lawrence bet. Guzman made the call. The river card of the {10-Hearts} was checked around and Lawrence showed {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {3-Spades} {K-Diamonds} for aces up. Guzman missed his low draw and Lawrence moves up to over 1.2 million in chips.

Chris Falconer Scoops and Doubles

Chris Falconer raised it up from the button and Thang Luu made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Luu bet enough to put Falconer all in. He made the call and tabled {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} against the {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} of Luu.

The turn was a repeat {A-Spades} and river {3-Diamonds} to give Falconer the high and low hands to scoop and move to around 180,000 much to the delight of his buddies cheering him on from the rail of the Milwaukee's Best Light Bar.

Lawrence Turns Nuts

In a monster pot Spencer Lawrence turned the nuts on a board of {10-Spades}{K-Spades}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts} against Thang Luu. Lawrence raised Luu's bet on the turn, and Luu called, before they both checked the dangerous-looking river.

Lawrence showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} for the nut straight which was good as Luu flashed K-Q before tossing his cards into the muck.

The huge pot was sent to Lawrence as he claims the chip lead with a little over 700,000 in chips.

Big vs. Small

The final six players have divided themselves into three big stacks (Luu, Lawrence and Guzman) and three very short stacks (Falconer, Pritchard and Jamison), and they are playing accordingly.

Most of the short stacks are playing very tight and trying to either find a premium hand to double up with, or perhaps jump another spot in the prize payouts.

The big stacks on the other hand are three very aggressive players. Guzman and Luu especially have been very loose and are prepared to splash around to put pressure on the short stacks.

It's a very interesting dynamic at the table at the moment, but the short stacks are going to have to make a move soon while they still have a choice!
