Truly a stunning day, as just days after winning Event #14, Brock 'Tsoprano' Parker did it all again to win his second bracelet within a week beating over a 1,000 players during this 3-day tournament.
He entered the final table in second place behind Joe Serock, the latter dominating the early parts of the final table. Serock and Parker got heads up and Parker managed to get the advantage early on.
Serock did battle back but Parker won crucial pots and finally finished off his opponent for a famous victory.
Congratulations to Brock Parker, winner of Event #14 and now also the winner of Event #19!
Joe Serock raised to 200,000, Brock Parker reraised to approximately 1 million, Serock pushed all in, and Parker called.
Serock
Parker
Just like that, we were looking at a possible end to this heads-up battle. The flop came , and Parker was still ahead. The turn was the , and Serock already was walking over to shake Parker's hand. The came on the river, and Brock Parker claims his second WSOP bracelet in four days!
The board gets checked to the river and Brock's beats Joe's .
Brock raises to 200,000. Joe calls.
The flop is and after Joe checks, Brock bets 325,000 but Joe check-raises to 825,000. Brock flat-calls this bet and the pot is nearly 2 million now.
The turn is the and Joe checks again but this time Brock checks behind him. The river is the and Joe thinks for a good minute or two before he decides check. Brock checks behind, Joe shows , and Brock wins with .
At the end there, Joe had 1.25 million ready to bet but seemed to decide against it right at the end. He's down to maybe 1.875 million. Brock has close to 6.125 million.
First, Brock Parker got a walk. Then Parker raised from the button to 200,000, and Joe Serock folded. Next, Serock made the 200,000 preflop raise, and Parker folded.
On the next hand, Parker again opened with a raise to 200,000. This time Serock reraised to 540,000, and Parker quickly pushed back with a big reraise to 1.5 million. Serock exhaled with a weary look, and folded.
We just had a change of announcers, and it took the new one a few hands to learn that Joe Serock's name was not, in fact, Steve.
The announcer was back on track, but after Serock took that last hand, his cheering section had an idea.
"Ship it to Steve! Let's go, Steve!"
Serock took the next small pot, and surely thanks to the suggestion from the bleachers, the announcer slipped again. It appears that mental battle will be the much less significant game-within-game going forward.
After Joe Serock took down that big pot to get back even, we're starting to see some more postflop action, relatively speaking, although the counts remain approximately even.
First, Serock raised to 200,000 from the button, and Brock Parker called. The flop came all clubs: . Parker led out for 325,000, and Serock folded.
On the next one, Parker raised to 200,000 from the button, and Serock called. The flop came , and both checked. The turn was the . This time Serock bet 200,000, and Parker folded.
Joe raises to 200,000 and Brock makes the call once more. It's which is checked both ways. On the turn, Brock checks again and Joe bets 200,000, Brock calls and the river is the .
Joe now bets 625,000 and Brock gets up out of his chair for a second, for the first time looking a little anxious. He calls and Joe shows for two pair. It's good.
Incredibly that's the first hand shown down in about 40 minutes.
