Michael Pesek Gets Knocked Out

Michael Pesek got his chips in the middle with the best hand but still lost the hand.

Pesek raised to 65,000 from under-the-gun and got re-raised to 167,000 by Travis Johnson on the button. Pesek shoved over the top for an additional 330,000 and Johnson tanked before finally making the call with {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, which was behind Pesek's {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

Johnson didn't take long to catch up though, hitting a set on a flop of {J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. The turn and river brought the {3-Hearts} and {A-Hearts} - no help to Pesek - who went home in 12th spot.

Philip Souza Crippled - Then Eliminated

Philip Souza raised to 54,000 from under-the-gun and got re-raised to 160,000 by Gary Tang from the small blind.

Both players checked the flop of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Tang led for 175,000 when the {5-Spades} appeared on the turn. Souza raised all in for 879,000 and Tang tanked before finally making the call with {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Souza showed {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and lost the monster pot when the {5-Hearts} hit the river.

The pot left Souza with just 41,000 chips and put Tang up near 1.6 million.

Souza was knocked out of the tournament a couple of hands later after shoving with {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} preflop and getting called by Mike Ciotola with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Neither player improved on a board of {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and Ciotola's kicker played.

Robert Fett Sent to the Rail

Robert Fett and Jacob Kalb got all in preflop after Kalb raised to 52,000, Fett re-raised to 152,000 and Kalb shoved.

When the hands were turned up, we were racing with Fett holding {A-Spades}{K-Spades} to Kalb's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. A flop of {Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs} put Kalb way out front and Fett couldn't catch up with either the {4-Hearts} or {J-Spades}.

The hand put Kalb at 1.8 million chips.

Michael Martin Eliminated

Michael Martin
Michael Martin
Craig McConville min-raised to 55,000 from under the gun and got flat called by Mark Salinaro in middle position. Action folded back to Michael Martin in the small blind who shoved for 191,000. McConville called and Salinaro folded.

Going heads up to the flop, McConville showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} versus Martin's {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. When the flop came {2-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Martin looked to be in good shape. The {2-Hearts} on the turn helped too, but the {Q-Hearts} on the river handed the hand to McConville and sent Martin to the rail.

McConville now has 1,500,000 chips.

Ciotola Doubles Through Johnson

Mike Ciotola
Mike Ciotola
Action folded to Travis Johnson who shoved all in from the small blind against Mike Ciotola in the big blind.

Ciotola quickly called showing {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} versus Johnson's {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. A flop of {4-Spades}{A-Spades}{J-Hearts} left Johnson needing running hearts, which he didn't catch when the board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Ciotola doubled up to 350,000.

James Bott is Knocked Out

James Bott
James Bott
Action folded to Robert Fett who shoved all in for 910000 from the small blind, prompting an instant call from the short stacked James Bott in the big blind.

Bott showed {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} against Fett's {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, but fell way behind when Fett flopped Broadway with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The {8-Hearts} on the turn and {9-Clubs} on the river ended the hand and Bott's day.

Fett now has 1.1 million chips.

Jason Riesenberg Eliminated

Jason Riesenberg
Jason Riesenberg
Jason Riesenberg pushed his 104,000 chip stack into the middle preflop and got called by Jim McClain.

Riesenberg showed {K-Hearts}{6-Spades} vs. McClain's {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, and took an early lead on a flop of {3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. It didn't last long though, as McClain caught the {9-Diamonds} on the turn and sealed the hand with the {7-Hearts} on the river.

That hand put McClain's stack at more than 1 million.

Michael Pesek Gets a Double Up

Kam Low limped under-the-gun and then called Michael Pesek's 185,000 chip preflop shove with {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Pesek showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and took a commanding lead with a flop of {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The {9-Clubs} and {6-Hearts} on the turn and river didn't help Low's hand, and Pesek climbed to 370,000.
