Michael Greco Eliminated in 3rd Place ($129,691)

Michael Greco - 3rd place
Michael Greco - 3rd place

L.J. Klein opened with a raise from the small blind, Michael Greco reraised all in for his last 485,000, and Klein called.

Klein {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Greco {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The flop came {8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and Klein was ahead with two pair, but Greco had a flush draw. The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and Greco was still looking for help. But the river was the {5-Spades}, and Greco is out in third, matching his best-ever WSOP finish from last year.

We're heads-up! A short break before the final two carry this battle to the end.

Greco's Turn for a Double-Up

L.J. Klein just doubled up one opponent. And now he's doubled up the other.

Klein opened for 150,000 from the small blind, and Michael Greco called from the big blind. The flop came {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Greco committed his last 300,000, and Klein called.

Greco showed {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Klein {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The turn was the {2-Spades} and the river the {3-Hearts}, and Greco's hand was best.

Klein's still over 2 million, though, while Greco has 875,000.

Double for Proulx

Miguel Proulx raised to 150,000 preflop and L.J. Klein raised enough to put him all in for around 535,000. Proulx called and turned over {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} and was up against Klein's {7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}.

The flop came out {3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, giving Proulx two pair. The {5-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing and Klein needed a queen or jack to win. The river was the {10-Spades} and Proulx doubled to just over a million while Klein dropped to 2.7 million.

Klein Looking Good

L.J. Klein opened for 105,000 from the button, Michael Greco folded, and Michel Proulx raised to 340,000 from the big blind. Klein called the reraise, and turned to look at Proulx as the dealer dealt the flop. Such is Klein's habit -- to watch his opponent's reaction to the flop rather than the cards being dealt.

Interestingly, this time Proulx was looking at Klein, too, so neither saw the {2-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Hearts} spread out on the felt before them right away. Eventually Proulx looked down, then bet 300,000. Klein quickly announced a pot-sized reraise, and Proulx instantly mucked his cards.

Klein is now up to 3.235 million, while both Proulx and Greco are right around the 580,000-chip mark.

Klein-ing Up

L.J. Klein
L.J. Klein

Miguel Proulx opened with a raise to 150,000 from the small blind, and L.J. Klein called from the big blind. Both checked the {Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop. The turn was the {10-Clubs}. Proulx bet 175,000, and Klein took about 20 seconds before making the call.

The river was the {7-Clubs}. Proulx checked, and Klein didn't hesitate to push out 400,000. Proulx tossed his cards dealerward.

Klein increases his lead, and is now with 2.345 million. Proulx is next with 1.35 million, and Greco has 700,000.

Proulx Pushes Greco Out

Miguel Proulx opened for 125,000 from the button, and Michael Greco called from the big blind. The flop came {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, and both checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}. Greco bet 100,000, and Proulx casually tossed four green (25,000) chips out to call.

The river was the {7-Diamonds}. Greco checked, and this time Proulx carefully slid out two stacks of orange (5,000) chips for a bet of 200,000. Greco let it go.

Proulx has 1.85 million, and Greco is down to 625,000. L.J. Klein has edged in front now with almost 2 million.
