We picked up the action on the flop with the board reading . Phil Ivey was first up and fired a bet of 31,000. Matt Sterling was his opponent and he made the call.
Fourth street brought the and Ivey didn't slow down. He fired out 60,000. Sterling thought for a minute and then made the call.
The river completed the board with the and Ivey announced that he was all in for 78,000. Sterling tanked and then made the call.
Ivey revealed to for top two pair and Sterling mucked. He dropped all the way to 75,000 while Ivey doubled to about 370,000 in chips.
David Chiu checked the flop to Phil Ivey, who bet 27,000. Chiu made the call.
They proceeded to check down the turn and river, and Chiu turned over . Ivey presumably couldn't beat it, as he mucked and dropped a little to 175,000. Chiu meanwhile upped his stack to 480,000.
In fact Chiu picked up another small pot courtesy of chip leader Jose-Luis Velador a couple hands later, and is now at 480,000.
Phil Ivey started things off with a limp under the gun and then Jose-Luis Velador completed from the small blind after action folded to him. Gavin Cochrane was in the big blind and raised to 24,000. Ivey called and then Velador called as well.
The flop came down and Velador checked. Cochrane fired a continuation bet worth 48,000 and then Ivey folded. Velador tanked for several minutes and eventually folded.
The board read when we arrived; three players were still in the hand and it look as though it had been checked down that far.
When we got there, it was to witness Irish Open champion James Mitchell checking to Kevin MacPhee in the cutoff, who bet 25,000. The action moved to Victor Ramdin on the button, who promptly raised. Mitchell got out of there quickly, and MacPhee folded up with a grin.
Just 14 players remain as we head into Day 3, the final day of this $2,500 PLH/PLO party.
We don't yet know where the tournament will be - it's too early for the bags to be out. However we do know when it will be, and that magical time is 3pm, in around an hour.
Jose-Luis Velador leads the field, but there's just a whisker between him and David Chiu. Also still in are Rob Hollink, Victor Ramdin, Kevin MacPhee, and the multi-tabling Phil Ivey will be attempting to play both this event and the heads up across the way
