The Rich Get Richer

Eric Stemp raised to 105,000 in early position and was called by Jack Ward from the small blind. John Woo then reraised to 355,000 from the big blind, which caused Stemp to fold. Ward decided to make the call and the two saw the flop come {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Ward checked and Woo bet 550,000. Ward folded and dropped to 860,000. Woo is up to 2.23 million.

Jay Hong Eliminated in 9th Place ($36,450)

Jay Hong - 9th Place

Action folded to Harold Angle in the small blind and he opted to call. Jay Hong checked from the big blind and the two saw a flop of {K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{K-Spades}.

Angle led out with a 30,000 bet and Hong made the call. Angle then bet 65,000 when the {10-Diamonds} came on the turn. Hong raised to 225,000 and Angle, who had Hong covered, moved all in. Hong quickly called and showed {K-Hearts}{9-Spades} for trip kings; however, Angle was ahead when he showed {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped full house.

Hong needed a king, nine or ten on the river to stay alive and all eyes were glued to the monitor as the dealer prepared to deal the river. He burned and slowly revealed the {Q-Hearts}. Angle took down the pot and increased his stack to 1.17 million while Hong was eliminated from the tournament in ninth place ($36,450).

Pianelli Doubles Up

Carlos Pianelli moved all in for his last 133,000 from the hijack with {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and was called by John Woo, who held {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. The flop came {2-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}, giving Woo the lead and putting him in great position to eliminate Pianelli.

The dealer burned and turned the {7-Spades}, which sent cheers throughout the rail as Pianelli shot up his arms. He wasn't out of the woods yet though. Woo could still eliminate his opponent if a ten or ace appeared on the river.

The crowd leaned in as the dealer put the {3-Diamonds} on the river, giving Pianelli a much needed double up to 347,000 while Woo dropped to 1.75 million.
