Brown Doubles

Hold'em

Chad Brown raised from the button and Jeffrey Lisandro made the call from the big blind.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Lisandro bet. Brown raised it up and Lisandro made the call.

The {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Lisandro check-called Brown's all in bet.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Brown's {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} bested Lisandro's [kc 19h].

Brown is up to 118,000.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts}. Ivey bet again, but this time, Hughes folded.

After winning three hands in a row in hold'em, Ivey is up to 480,000.

Makowsky Doubles through Brown

Stud-8

Makowsky: {k-Diamonds} {k-Clubs} / {j-Hearts} {k-Spades} {q-Clubs} {5-Hearts} / {10-Clubs}
Brown: {a-Hearts} {5-Spades} / {4-Spades} {2-Clubs} {10-Spades} {a-Clubs} / {4-Clubs}

Chad Brown got a brief reprieve before he started bleeding more chips, this time in stud hi/lo. On fourth street, Makowsky bet the best board and Brown called. Makowsky was all in by fifth street. He had three kings, while Brown was four to a wheel. Brown made a running two pair, aces and fours, but no low. Makowsky scooped the whole pot with his three kings to double up to 170,000.

Brown is in critical condition with 40,000.

David Benyamine Eliminated in 14th Place ($14,406)

David Benyamine - 14th place
David Benyamine - 14th place

Stud-8

Two quick hands of stud hi/lo ended David Benyamine's tournament n a hurry. First, Benyamine had to fold sixth street, showing X-X / {4-Clubs} {a-Hearts} {10-Spades} {9-Spades}, after Phil Ivey fired a bet on fifth street and sixth street, showing X-X / {q-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {2-Spades}.

Shortly thereafter, Benyamine completed third street with a {4-Spades} after Brent Wheeler brought it in with the {2-Spades}. Wheeler then raised and Benyamine called. When Benyamine made open fours on fourth street, a series of raises got the money all in. Wheeler was rolled up, bad news for Benyamine. The boards rolled out:

Benyamine: {a-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} / {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} {k-Spades} {4-Diamonds} / {6-Spades}
Wheeler: {2-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} / {2-Spades} {9-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} / {4-Clubs}

Benyamine made trip fours on sixth street, but Wheeler caught the case deuce to make quads. Benyamine had no low draw, leaving him one out to avoid elimination. It was Wheeler, however, who drew the case four on the river.

Benyamine is out.

Stud Killing Brown

Stud

Back-to-back hands of stud ended badly for Chad Brown, pushing his stack down to less than 100,000 chips.

Hand No. 1

Brown: X-X / {8-Diamonds} {a-Clubs} {q-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} / X
Hahn: X-X / {a-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} / X

Albert Hahn completed third street and was called only by Brown. Hahn bet the lead on fourth street, then had to call when Brown picked up the lead and bet it on fifth street. Brown slowed down by sixth street, checking and then calling a bet. Both players checked seventh street, where Hahn produced {a-Spades} {8-Clubs} {10-Spades} as his hole cards for two pairs, aces and tens. It was the winner.

Hand No. 2

Brown: X-X / {9-Spades} {10-Hearts} {j-Hearts} {k-Hearts} / X
Baker: X-X / {10-Spades} {6-Spades} {6-Spades} {j-Diamonds} / X

The very next hand, David Baker completed third street and was called by Brown and by Dan Makowsky. Makowsky exited to Brown's fourth street bet. Baker called to fifth street, where he made open sixes. He bet, then called Brown's raise.

Baker checked and called sixth street, then checked and raised the river. That was very bad news for Brown, who made a crying call.

"I was rolled up," said Baker. he opened {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {5-Hearts} for tens full of sixes. Brown flashed the {q-Hearts} and mucked.
