Isaac Haxton was having a great afternoon of poker and that seemingly continued into the evening. However it has now all come to an end in 39th place. We missed his elimination, but can see what was mostly likely his chips being raked in to the player directly across from where he sat. For those interested, this was in fact Haxton's seventh cash at this year's World Series of Poker.
The players are back from their break and ready to play just two more levels before wrapping it up for the night. While we expect plenty more eliminations, it is very doubtful we will get even close to the final table that we hoped for.
Illan Boujenah is a very talented poker player with over $1 million in tournament winnings. He has a dark side to his character though, and that came out just now.
He was involved in a pot with Jeffrey Manza and the two had reached the river of a board. Manza set Boujenah all in, and after two minutes he called.
Manza opened pocket nines for a rivered full-house that beat Boujenah's pocket tens. When Boujenah was told by a fellow player that he folded a nine, meaning he was one outed on the river, he reacted by splashing his chips all over the table and storming off.
Sam Razavi was unlucky to lose a really big pot, as he explained:
Sam_Razavi Sam RazaviClown raise-called his stack off with AJ I have AK he rivers J. 230k pot. Running on fumes nowJune 21 2012
He has managed to double back up though and said he won't give up. The action folded to the Brit in the small blind he shoved with , called by the big blind holding .
The flop came and Razavi shouted, "I've got a heart, it's coming!"
The turn came and Rasavi continued, "A nine, a nine!"
The river was making the inside straight for Razavi. "Sorry," he offered, "I'm not giving up."
When we arrived at Scott Clements' table, there was a board showing and Clements was first to act against one opponent. Clements tapped the table with a check and his opponent bet 35,000. At this point there was around 80,000 already in the pot and Clements thought for just a short while before making the call. When the player tabled his , Clements threw his cards into the muck and a portion of his chips in the opposite direction.
Jia Liu is the latest player to see his stack near 500,000 in chips. Liu has one World Series of Poker cash on his record already, so this makes it two. Of course, he will be looking to do better than that here and so far, so good.
