Chad Soaring

Omaha-8

After winning a series of Stud-8 hands, Norman Chad found himself heads up with Oleksii Kovalchuk in a hand of Omaha-8. Chad called a raised preflop, and checked when the flop fell {9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Chad check-called a bet, and the turn was the {6-Hearts}. Chad check-raised, and Kovalchuk called.

The {9-Spades} completed the board, and Chad led out. Kovalchuk tank-folded, and Chad is now flirting with the 600K mark!

Bryan Devonshire Eliminated in 12th Place ($12,892)

Bryan Devonshire - 12th Place
Bryan Devonshire - 12th Place

Stud-8

Bryan Devonshire: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} / {x-}
George Danzer: {x-}{x-} / {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts} / {x-}
Mark Gregorich: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds} / {x-}

When we reached the tabled on fourth street, Devonshire was already all in. Danzer led out with a bet, and Gregorich called. On the next three streets, Danzer check-called bets from Gregorich, and after seventh was dealt face down, all three players turned their cards face up.

Devonshire: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Danzer: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Gregorich: {k-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Devonshire was eliminated in twelfth place, and wish his opponents good luck before exiting.

Tom Schneider Eliminated in 13th Place ($10,317)

Tom Schneider - 13th place
Tom Schneider - 13th place

Stud-8

Norman Chad brought it in, Tom Schneider completed, Yuval Bronshtein called, and Chad called as well. It checked to Schneider on fourth and fifth, and when he bet both of his opponents called, the last bet putting Schneider all in. Chad then check-called Bronshtein's bets on both sixth and seventh.

Schneider: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {x-}
Bronshtein: {x-}{x-} / {9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Clubs} / {x-}
Chad: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} / {x-}

Schneider tabled {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} — he'd made an eight-high straight and had a 7-6-5-4-2 low. Pretty good both ways, it seemed.

But Bronshtein's {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} meant he'd made a better high with an ace-high straight. And Chad's {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} meant he'd drawn a 6-4-3-2-A low, thus sending the unlucky Schneider out in 13th.

Timothy Frazin Eliminated in 14th Place ($10,317)

Timothy Frazin - 14th Place
Timothy Frazin - 14th Place

Omaha-8

Timothy Frazin raised in late position, Tom Schneider made it three bets on the button, and Wing Wong cold-called from the small blind. Frazin called as well, and the flop fell {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Wong led out, and both Frazin and Schneider called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and Wong led again. Frazin called all in for his last T1,000 chip, and Schneider called as well. The {5-Diamonds} completed the board, and Wong fired a third bullet.

Schneider tanked for well over a minute before calling, committing more than half of his remaining chips.

"Nut-nut," Wong announced, tabling {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Schneider mucked, and Frazin was forced to show {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} before hitting the rail. Wong is up above 300,000 chips now, while Schneider only has around 30,000, despite doubling up the very next hand.

Mike Krescanko Eliminated in 15th Place ($8,368)

Mike Krescanko - 15th place
Mike Krescanko - 15th place

Omaha-8

Mike Krescanko has been short-stacked for a while, surviving a couple of all ins to keep his seat. After Krescanko won a hand versus Oleksii Kovalchuk to survive, Tom Schneider noted how tough it seemed to be to get the next elimination.

"What do we have to do to get somebody out of this tournament?" asked Schneider.

"Pull the fire alarm?" answered Norman Chad.

Alas for Krescanko, his luck only lasted a little while longer. He raised from middle position, leaving himself but a few chips behind, and when Wing Wong reraised from the big blind, Krescanko called with the rest.

Wong: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Krescanko: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The board came {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}, giving Wong trip jacks to best Krescanko who hits the rail in 15th.

Three-Way All In

Stud-8

Tom Schneider{x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} / {x-}
Wing Wong{x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {x-}
Mike Krescanko{x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} / {x-}

Oleksii Kovalchuk brought it in with the {2-Diamonds} showing, Krescanko completed, Schneider raised, and Wong called. Kovalchuk released, and Krescanko made the call.

On fourth street, Wong led out, and Krescanko and Schneider called. On fifth street, Wong led again, putting himself all in, Krescanko called, and Schneider raised. Krescanko called all in, and all three cards were opened.

Schneider{a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Wong{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Krescanko{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Sixth street gave Wong the best low for the main pot, and seventh street was dealt face down. The {q-Diamonds} didn't improve Schneider's hand, the {8-Diamonds} didn't help Wong, and the {10-Spades} was a big brick for Krescanko.

Schneider took half of both pots with a pair of aces, Wong took half of the main pot with the best low, and Krescanko split the side pot with Schneider with the only qualifying low.

Got all of that?

Nut-Nut for Norman

Omaha-8

Norman Chad bet out on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Timothy Frazin folded, and Tom Schneider called. Both players checked after the {7-Diamonds} turned, and Chad led again after the {5-Clubs} completed the board.

"This is a bad call," Schneider announced, committing the chips.

"Nut-nut," Chad said, tabling {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Chad raked in the pot, pushing his stack well above 300,000 chips, and we're quite certain we heard a "whamboozeled" from the rail.

Krescanko Triples

Omaha-8

Timothy Frazin raised in the cutoff, Wing Wong called on the button, and Mike Krescanko three-bet all in for 28,000 from the big blind. Frazin and Wong both called, and checked it down as the board came {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

"Full house," Krescanko said happily when the two players checked on the river.

Krescanko's {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} scooped the entire pot, tripling him to 87,000 chips.

"So that's what you've been waiting for," Tom Schneider joked.

Chad Chips Up

Omaha-8

Chip leader Yuval Bronshtein opened from middle position, Norman Chad made it three bets from the button, Oleksii Kovalchuk called from the big blind, and Bronshtein called as well.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, and Kovalchuk quickly fired out. Bronshtein folded, but Chad stuck around. The {3-Spades} turn went check-check. The river then brought the {A-Clubs}. Kovalchuk checked, Chad bet, and after some thought Kovalchuk made the call.

Chad showed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a set of aces, and Kovalchuk mucked.
