Good afternoon and welcome back to the 44th annual World Series of Poker. Only 16 players remain in Event #19: $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em, and your leader is Jesse Martin. Martin has yet to capture his first WSOP gold bracelet, but has a plethora of cashes and a few final table appearances, and enters the day as the only player with more than 400,000 chips.
Standing in his way are a host of notable players, however, including Eugene Katchalov, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, John Hennigan, Dan Kelly, Davidi Kitai, Dimitar Danchev, Matt Marafioti, and Mark Herm. Kelly may be having the sickest summer thus far - it's either him or David "Bakes" Baker - and this is his fourth Day 3 appearance in 2013. If he is fortunate enough to make the official final table of nine, it would be his third in less than two weeks.
Also among the 16 survivors - and sitting third in chips - is Kristina Holst. If she wins, Holst would become only the seventh female to win an open event at the WSOP, joining the likes of Cyndy Violette, Kathy Liebert, Annie Duke, Katja Thater, Annette Obrestad, and Vanessa Selbst (2). Holst received a massive double at the end of Day 2 through Danchev, and will be looking to run it up on Day 3.
The cards will be in the air at 2 p.m. local time. We hope to see you then!
