Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
David Chiu - 4th Place
David Chiu - 4th Place

Hands #140-#142

Daniel Negreanu got a walk, then Eli Elezra won a pot off of Negreanu in a blind battle that ended with Elezra drawing to a {10-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{2-}.

The next hand began with Eli Elezra limping in from the small blind and David Chiu checking his option from the big blind. Elezra initially took three cards and Chiu two, then both checked. Elezra took one after that and Chiu two, and Elezra led with a bet. Chiu thought a moment and called, leaving himself but 79,000 just under two big bets.

Both took one card on the last draw, and when Elezra bet, Chiu raised all in and Elezra quickly called.

Chiu had {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, but Elezra had drawn a number three {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and Chiu is out in fourth.

Negreanu Adding Still More

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Hands #124-#128

In Hand #124, Brian Brubaker raised from the small blind and Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind. Both drew two, Brubaker bet, and Negreanu called. From there Brubaker stood pat, while Negreanu drew two and then one.

Brubaker bet after the second draw and Negreanu called. Brubaker then bet all in for his last 14,000 after the third draw, and after Negreanu squeezed his new card to see he'd drawn an {A-}, he folded.

From there, Negreanu won the next four hands in a row all without having to show down a hand and is now sitting with nearly 1.3 million chips. In other words, Negreanu is edging towards having two-thirds of the chips in play with four players left. Meanwhile, Chiu has slid down to fourth position at the moment.

Brubaker Crippled, Then Doubles

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Brian Brubaker
Brian Brubaker

Hands #114-#123

Brian Brubaker raised it up in the small blind, and Daniel Negreanu three bet from the big blind. Brubaker called, then both players drew two. Brubaker check called a bet, then he drew two again. Negreanu just drew one, and Brubaker folded when Negreanu bet again.

A few hands later, Eli Elezra raised, and Brian Brubaker moved all in. Elezra called, and both players stood pat. Brubaker patted again on the second draw, and Elezra decided to break his hand, discarding one. He did the same on the third draw, and Brubaker fanned out {9-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Elezra showed {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}, and he was drawing to an eight or a deuce. He sweated the card, but it didn't last long, as he saw paint, a {k-} to be exact. Brubaker notched the double up, but is still quite short with 90,000.

"Hey, PokerNews... Write that Daniel Has a Million!"

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Hands #108-#113

This sequence began and ended with contested hands, with David Negreanu and David Chiu each winning the blinds twice during the intervening hands with predraw raises.

The first hand saw Chiu raise from under the gun and Eli Elezra defend his big blind. Elezra took three, then one, then stood pat, while Chiu took two on the first draw and stood pat thereafter. Elezra was check-calling bets on the first two rounds, then led with a bet after the third one and Chiu called. Elezra tabled {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Chiu mucked.

During those intervening hands, Red Bull Robbie counted up Negreanu's chips and announced he had 990,000, and Elezra and Chiu playfully tossed a 5,000 chip each Negreanu's way.

"Hey, PokerNews," said a grinning Elezra. "Write that Daniel has a million... we gave him enough!"

Negreanu laughed and tossed the chips back, but then he won some more outright from Chiu in another hand that saw the pair battle to the last draw each taking one on the end then Negreanu turning over a number three ({7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}) to win.
