Some Heads-Up Hands

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #108: Eric Baldwin raised to 80,000 and then called when Matt Waxman three-bet to 200,000. Waxman was first to act on the {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop and he bet 130,000. Baldwin was having none of it and bumped it to 310,000, which got the job done.

Hand #109: Matt Waxman raised to 80,000 and won the pot.

Hand #110: Eric Baldwin limped the button and then called when Matt Waxman raised to 140,000. After the flop fell {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Waxman led out for 115,000 and Baldwin folded.

Hand #111: Matt Waxman opened for 80,000 on the button and Eric Baldwin called, bringing about a flop of {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Baldwin checked and then folded when Waxman bet 60,000.

Hand #112: Eric Baldwin won after raising to 80,000 on the button.

Waxman Pulling Away

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #107: A big hand just occurred on the second hand of heads-up play. It began when Matt Waxman raised to 80,000 from the button and Eric Baldwin defended. Baldwin proceeded to check call bets of 85,000 and 215,000 on the {10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop and {A-Clubs} turn respectively. When the {K-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Baldwin checked for a third time and Waxman fired out a big bet of 500,000.

Baldwin called, but quickly mucked when Waxman tabled the {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for two pair.

Jess Dioquino Eliminated in 3rd Place ($130,825)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jess Dioquino - 3rd Place
Jess Dioquino - 3rd Place

Hand #105: Jess Dioquino moved all in from the small blind and Eric Baldwin called him from the big. Dioquino tabled the {Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and he was dominated by the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} of Baldwin. Dioquino was looking for a deuce, but there was none to be found as the board ran out {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

With Dioquino's elimination in third place, for which he earned $130,825, two well-respected poker pros are left to battle heads up. Baldwin is seeking his second piece of WSOP gold while Waxman is seeking his first (the closest he ever came was third in a 2011 event).

Baldwin Doubles Through Dioquino

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #104: Eric Baldwin opened the button for 60,000 and Matt Waxman three-bet to 135,000 from the small blind. Jess Dioquino then moved all in from the big, Baldwin called off for 1.051 million and Waxman got out of the way.

Baldwin: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Dioquino: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

It was another big pocket pair versus big pocket pair, and fortunately for Baldwin he was on top. That's exactly where he stayed too as the board ran out {2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Baldwin doubled big while Dioquino was crippled.

Three-Handed Action

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Hand #100: Eric Baldwin raised to 60,000 and took down the pot.

Hand #101: Eric Baldwin made it 60,000 to go on the button and Jess Dioquino called from the big blind. Both players checked the {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and then Baldwin called a bet of 35,000 on the {4-Clubs} turn. When the {K-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Dioquino checked and then folded when Baldwin bet 131,000.

Hand #102: Matt Waxman made it 60,000 from the button and then folded when Eric Baldwin three-bet to 155,000 from the big blind.

Hand #103: Jess Dioquino raised to 60,000 on the button and won the pot.

Amit Makhija Eliminated in 4th Place ($94,353)

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Amit Makhija - 5th Place
Amit Makhija - 5th Place

Hand #99: Matt Waxman raised to 60,000 from the button and Amit Makhija called from the big blind. The {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop saw Makhija, who started the day as the chip leader, check and Waxman bet 50,000. Makhija responded by check-raising all in for 300,000 or so and Waxman snap-called.

Waxman: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Makhija: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

It was a cooler for Makhija as he ran his pocket pair straight into pocket rockets. Neither the {5-Diamonds} turn nor {4-Clubs} river changed a thing, and that was all she wrote for Makhija. He will take home $94,353 for his fourth-place finish.
