Payvar Wins One

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The player under the gun opened to 35,000. The player in middle position called, as did Siagzar Payvar in the cutoff and the big blind.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and was checked around to the {6-Diamonds} turn. The big blind checked again, and the original raiser bet 51,000. The player in middle position folded, then Payvar raised to 145,000. That caused the big blind to fold, but the original raiser called.

The {10-Diamonds} river completed the board and both remaining players checked. Payvar tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a rivered flush and his opponent showed {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} before sending his hand to the muck.

''I wish I bet the flop, I let you get out of line,'' commented the player under the gun. ''I'm glad I didn't bet the flop!'' answered Payvar.

Imsirovic Wins Two Million-Chip Pot

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The action was opened with a raise from the player under the gun and Alexis Fleur three-bet to 106,000 from middle position. Almedin Imsirovic was sat in the small blind and when it was his turn to act he four-bet to 263,000. Fleur asked to see Imsirovic's stack before he moved all in, and Imsirovic made the call.

Alexis Fleur: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Almedin Imsirovic: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Board: {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Frenchman Fleur was in bad shape and needed help from the board, but it did not come, and Imsirovic's pocket kings held to scoop a big pot worth over two million to give him the chip lead.

Stewart Keeps Building

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Dustin Stewart opened to 35,000 on the button. The player in the small blind called.

A flop of {2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds} was dealt and checked around to the {7-Spades} turn. The small blind checked. Stewart bet 25,000, and the small blind called. The river brought the {a-Spades}. The small blind threw in a bet of 52,000, and Stewart called.

''Good call,'' commented the player in the small blind while turning over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Steward tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and raked in the pot.

Kurt Jewell

The action was opened with a raise to 34,000 from middle position and both Kurt Jewell, in the small blind, and the big blind player called. On the {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, the action checked back to the initial raiser who bet 52,000. Jewell made the call and the big blind folded.

Both players checked on the {j-Hearts} turn before Jewell checked once more on the {3-Clubs} river. His opponent gave himself 30 seconds to think before he opted to check behind. Jewell showed pocket fours for a full house and his opponent mucked.

Jewell, who has $1,509,147 in recorded live cashes, has now crossed the million-chip mark for the first time.

Greenblatt Eliminates an Opponent

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The player in middle position opened to 27,000. The small blind called. Alexander Greenblatt in the big blind then three-bet to 125,000, and the original raiser folded. The small blind responded by four-bet shoving for 350,000, and Greenblatt quickly called.

Alexander Greenblatt: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, meaning Greenblatt turned a full house to send his opponent to the rail.
