Szabo Pulls Into the Lead

Level 48 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

In the last hand of the previous level, Dan Zack raised to 40,000 and Gabor Szabo defended to see the {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. Szabo checked the {a-Spades} turn and Zack bet 60,000 for his opponent to call. Szabo then check-called the {k-Spades} river for 150,000 and won the pot with {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} as Zack was bluffing the {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Shortly thereafter, Zack check-raised a {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop from 50,000 to 150,000 and that won the pot uncontested.

Puustinen Pulls Into the Lead

Level 47 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

On the {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades} turn, Henri Puustinen bet 80,000 and Jason Koon called to see the {7-Spades} on the river. Puustinen bet 80,000 once more and Koon folded.

Shortly thereafter, Koon made it 40,000 to go and Puustinen three-bet to 150,000 for Koon to call. The {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and {6-Clubs} turn were checked and Puustinen bet the {3-Hearts} river for 100,000, which earned the pot uncontested.

Back And Forth Tussle Between Puustinen and Koon

Level 47 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Henri Puustinen raised to 30,000 on the button and Jason Koon called to see a flop of {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Koon check-called for 25,000 and then check-folded the {k-Diamonds} turn when Puustinen made it 110,000 to go.

After the blinds had gone up, Puustinen raised to 40,000 and Koon came along to the {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop. Koon check-called for 23,000 and the {7-Clubs} turn went check, check. Koon also checked the {6-Spades} river and Puustinen bet 85,000 to claim the pot right there.

Despite losing these smaller pots, Koon added some more chips to his stack again.

Another One for Zack

Level 46 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Dan Zack raised to 30,000 from the button and Gabor Szabo defended.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{a-Spades} for Szabo to check. Zack bet 18,000 for Szabo to raise it up to 50,000 which Zack called after some careful consideration.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Szabo fired a chip of 100,000 over the line and Zack called again.

The river completed the board with the {2-Hearts} and both players checked. Szabo tabled the {q-Spades}{3-Spades} for the missed flush draw for Zack to pick up the pot with the {a-Hearts}{2-Spades} for the flopped two pair.

"What are you guys doing over there?" Jason Koon asked the duo. "Playing small ones while we have 300-big blind pots?"

Both Szabo and Zack smiled.

A Chop and a Flush for Puustinen

Level 46 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Jason Koon raised to 30,000 and Henri Puustinen called. On a flop of {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}, both players checked and Puustinen bet the {q-Spades} turn for 60,000, which Koon called. Puustinen also bet the {4-Hearts} river for 270,000 and Koon called to chop with {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} versus {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Two hands later, Koon raised for the same amount on the button and Puustinen defended. The flop fell {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Puustinen this time check-called for 70,000. On the {a-Spades} turn, Puustinen check-called for another 250,000 and Koon checked behind the {8-Spades} river. This time, it was Puustinen with the flush as he earned the pot with the {j-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Dan Zack raised to 30,000 and Gabor Szabo came along to the {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, which both players checked. Szabo check-called for 60,000 on the {a-Clubs} turn and 125,000 on the {7-Spades} river. Zack tabled {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Szabo chopped with the {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}.
