Albini Takes Control

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Steve Albini
Steve Albini

Stud 8 or Better

Steven Albini is now a large chipleader, as he won few pots in a row. One of them was against Jason Daly.

Steven Albini: {x-}{x-}/{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}/{x-}
Jason Daly: {x-}{x-}/{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Spades}/{x-}

Both players created a two million chip pot and Albini showed {q-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a queen high straight, which was enought to scoop that pot.

On the hand just after that, he almost took more than half of Vataru stack, who just folded on another bet on the sixth street, to keep a small stack alive in the tournament.

Daly Tangles With Morgan, Albini

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Jason Daly
Jason Daly

Stud 8 or Better

James Morgan: {x-}{x-}/{a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}/{x-}
Jason Daly: {x-}{x-}/{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Hearts}/{x-}
Eddy Vataru: {x-}{x-}/{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} - folded

Jason Daly completed and Eddy Vataru called before James Morgan raised. Both opponents called as Morgan bet again on fourth street.

Again, both opponents called. When Morgan bet on fifth, Daly came back with a raise and Vataru folded. Morgan leaned over the table to check Daly's board before calling.

Morgan finally gave up his hand when Daly bet on sixth.

One hand later, Daly played another pot against chip leader Steven Albini.

Jason Daly: {x-}{x-}/{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-} - folded
Steven Albini: {x-}{x-}/{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}/{x-}

Daly bet on fifth street and Albini called. Daly bet again on sixth street, and this time Albini raised.

Daly called, but he angrily tossed his cards away when Albini put in another bet on seventh.

Seven Always Coming

Level 30 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

First to act, James Morgan raised and Tamon Nakamura re-raised. Morgan called.

James Morgan: {x-}{x-}/{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}/{x-}
Tamon Nakamura: {x-}{x-}/{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}/{x-}

On fourth street, Nakamura bet and Morgan called. It was Morgan who bet on fifth street and Nakamura called. Same action on sixth and seventh street.

Morgan finally announced "Sevens" before he showed {8-Spades}{7-}{x-} for. Nakamura mucked and Morgan collected this nice pot.

Albini Is Hot In This Level

Level 29 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Razz

It's all about Steven Albini in this level. He won a lot of hands and his stack keeps grinding. He notably won a hand against Jason Daly.

Steven Albini: {x-}{x-}/{2-}{7-}{2-}{a-}/{x-}
Jason Daly: {x-}{x-}/{2-}{10-}{9-}{2-}/{x-}

Two players just bet all the way long, before Albini showed {a-}{5-}{6-} to get the best low.

Razz

David Williams: {4-}{j-}{a-}{8-}{a-}{7-}{3-}
Eddy Vataru: {4-}{9-}{2-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{a-}

David Williams attempted to raise his last 95,000 on third street but was only allowed to make it 80,000. Eddy Vataru called.

"I'm putting it in no matter what," Williams said as he went all in blind and Vataru called.

Vataru ended up with 6-5-4-2-A, while Williams had 8-7-4-3-A and was eliminated in ninth place.

Brownstein Doubles Without Knowing It

Level 29 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Razz

Peter Brownstein completed before Jason Daly raised and Brownstein called off his last chips.

Peter Brownstein: {q-}{q-}{a-}{4-}{a-}{q-}{7-}
Jason Daly: {8-}{9-}{8-}{2-}{3-}{3-}{3-}

Brownstein got up from his seat and wished the table good luck when the boards were completed. It was only when the dealer was about to push the pot to Daly that the table noticed that both players had made full houses, but Brownstein's aces were the lower pair and he won the pot to survive.

"I've never seen that," a relieved Brownstein said after the hand.

Bai Leaves Brownstein Very Short

Level 29 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Omaha 8 or Better

In late position, Peter Brownstein opened to 160,000 and Richard Bai raised from the big blind to 240,000. Brownstein called.

Then, on a {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Clubs} board, Bai fired flop turn and river. Brownstein called everything, just to discover that Bai had it all with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for trips. Brownstein could not show a low and Richard Bai took that pot.

Peter Brownstein is now in a critical situation to survive on this final table.
