Jarvis On Six-Figure Stack After Cold Three-Bet on the Turn

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

James Jarvis checked from the big blind on a board of 3?Q?2?9?. Hamza Wajahat was in the cutoff and also checked before Richard Scardina bet 2,100 from the button.

Jarvis responded with a small raise to 4,500 before Wajahat three-bet it to 10,000.

This was too much action for Scardina, who now folded to let the other two players battle it out. Jarvis, however, made the call and saw the 8? river.

This prompted him to lead for a sizable bet of 15,000. Wajahat thought it over for a bit before putting in the call. Jarvis showed Q?9? for top two pair and Wajahat tabled an insufficient A?Q? for just top pair.

This pot elevated Jarvis stack to over 100,000 chips. "We've got to stop him," someone at the table commented while Jarvis was organizing his new six-figure stack.

Small One for Hasan

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Jesse Yaginuma raised 800 in late position and Ercan Hasan defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of A?8?3?, and Hasan check-called a bet of 500 from Yaginuma.

The 5? fell on the turn before both players checked and the A? completed the board on the river.

Hasan led for 1,500 and Yaginuma instantly tossed his hand away.

Wild Action Leads to Maran with an Early Lead

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Nawaung Maran
Nawaung Maran

The action got started with a raise to 1,100 from Toni Bisconti and she was called by the player on her left. Gary Knechtel made it 6,000 to go on the button and Dae-Hyung Lee ripped all in from the small blind as the big stack at the table. Nawaung Maran woke up with a monster in the big blind and stuck in the last of his 80,000 chips as well. The action folded back to Knechtel on the button who was unable to lay his hand down as he called off his last 64,000 chips.

Gary Knechtel: KxKx
Nawaung Maran: AxAx
Dae-Hyung Lee: JxJx

The flop came 10x9x8x which made things sweaty for Maran who was holding the pocket aces. Lee was looking to score an early double knockout with an open-ended straight draw. However, the 2x and 4x runout bricked out and Maran held on to score a huge pot in just the second level of Day 1a.

The One Is Out After Running Kings Into Aces Twice Against the Same Opponent

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Idan The One
Idan The One

After two heartbreaking coolers during Level 2, Israel's Idan The One has been eliminated from his first WSOP Main Event.

As recounted to PokerNews, there were two limps before Ruben Correia raised to 1,500 from the cutoff. The button called before The One, who earlier in the level lost a heap of chips in a kings versus aces confrontation with Correia, three-bet to bring folds from the limpers.

Correia four-bet to 16,000 and the button folded before The One five-bet all in for his tournament life. Correia called with a bigger stack.

The One had KxKx only to once again be against the AxAx of his opponent and couldn't improve to go out in devastating fashion in just the second level of play.

The One appears to still be processing his defeat as he sits in the back of the tournament area with his face buried in his hands.

Baxter Can't Beat Kings

Billy Baxter

Knowlton Atterbeary bet out 3,000 from under the gun on a flop of 6?2?Q?. Adam Ross was in middle position and folded before Billy Baxter made the call from the hijack.

On the J? turn, Atterbeary slowed down with a check and Baxter took the opportunity to bet 5,000 chips. Atterbeary made the call and then led out for a small 3,000 when the 9? river hit.

This bet puzzled Baxter, who eventually put in the calling chips. Atterbeary showed down K?K? and the overpair was good enough to take the pot.

Barcelona's Turn Bets Takes it

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

With 2,600 in the middle, the flop read A?6?5?, and Benjamin Luber checked to Manuel Barcelona who bet 700. Matt Stout was next to act and made the call, followed by Luber doing the same.

The 7? landed on the turn, and once Luber checked, Barcelona fired a bet of 2,000 which was enough to force both opponents out of the hand.

Aoki Kicks A Player Out With Aces

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

On table 664, action was caught when Dennis Aoki and Ralf Russo, seated on his left, flipped their cards in an all-in and call situation.

According to Aoki, he opened from the under-the-gun position, and Russo three-bet. A player called in middle position, and then Aoki "four-bet to 20,000". Then, Russo moved all in for 16,200, putting himself at risk, and the player in middle position folded.

Ralph Russo: A?K?
Dennis Aoki: A?A?

In a very bad situation, Russo could still hope for a flush as he had a draw on 6?3?10?5?, but the 9? on the river didn't give him the fourth club he needed, and he has been eliminated while Aoki is back to the starting stack.

Avdic McIntire Wins Another One, Doubles Starting Stack

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Gianna Avdic McIntire and Kubanychbek Abakirov had created a pot of 15,000 chips on a completed board of 2?J?5?Q?4?.

McIntire bet out 5,000 chips from the hijack and Abakirov thought it all over in the cutoff. Eventually, he made the call and McIntire turned over J?10? for a pair of jacks.

It was high enough to rake in another pot, as Abakirov mucked his cards soon after.
