In what was intended to be a conversation about a slew of near misses over his career, Michael Rocco flipped the script when he revealed that the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) would be his last full series for many years.

And the reason why he'll be reducing his volume at the tables may come as a bit of a shock.

Adam Owen opened from the button to 2,400,000 and Alec Torelli defended the big blind.

The flop came 7?4?8? and Torelli checked raised all in, after Owen bet 2,400,00.

Torelli asked Owen, "Do you want to hear my quantum poker theory?".

Owen responded, "let's hear it," before making any further action. Torelli briefly recalled the Schr?dinger's Cat thought experiment to the table and the rail, whilst Owen thought about the call.

Owen eventually moved his chips into the middle, calling Torelli's jam, and the players flipped their hands.

Owen was sitting on a pair of eights, whilst Torelli was hunting for either a straight or flush to keep him alive.

The 5? gave Torelli a pair of fives, which wasn't enough to put him ahead.

Owen's rail was calling for the 2?, which came in on the river, confirming Torelli's elimination in 3rd.

After a few small hands of heads up play, the action really began as it was picked up on a hand where the board read A?3?4?3?. From the button, Clement Richez bet 2,500,000 and Adam Owen called.

The river was the 6?. Richez overbet 14,000,000 into a pot of 11,500,000. Owen considered it for about 30 seconds before he called.

Richez tabled the A?J? and Owen mucked to take the chunky pot.

A couple of hands later, Richez limped the button. Owen raised to 4,000,000 and Richez called. The flop came down 6?K?10?. Richez called the bet of 4,500,000.

The turn was the 7?. Richez bet 11,0000,000 which got a fold from Owen.

The rush continued as the next hand, Richez called the 3,500,000 flop bet from Owen on a flop of J?5?6?. Both players checked the turn 7?.

Richez bet 3,500,000 and Owen folded as Richez took the significant chip lead.
