They're Taking Everything I Haaave

Finney isn't fini just yet
Finney isn't fini just yet
As Tony G throws the cards through the air, you can detect a slight blemish of frustration creeping into his game, the latest player to take a slice from his cake being Birmingham's David Finney.

Short-stacked, Finney made it approximately 10k pre-flop, virtually screaming to the table, "I'M COMMITTED!" (in the poker sense, that is, not committed to the mental institute).

However, Tony G woke up with Aces and it was soon on their backs time, Finney adding his remaining 11k to the pot without hesitation.

Guoga = {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Finney: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Board = {10-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

"I've been a bit lucky," observed Finney to his fascinated neighbour.

Cunningham Out

Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham is out. He flopped a pair of kings on a {K-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop.

Dario Alioto calls with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}XX and no help on the remaining two streets for Cunningham.

One thing I've noticed about the bustouts is there isnt much hand shaking afterwards. I wager it is not bad nature, but simply because all these players are so stinking rich that losing a 5000 tournament is a mere drop in the ocean to them.

Elsewhere the Devilfish has asked a few players to move so he can stare at an attractive massage girl. When they wouldn't he nearly fell off his chair trying to sneak a peek.

Devil Fishes Out A Double Up

Captain Ulliott - aaaaaar
Captain Ulliott - aaaaaar
Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott's ship is at full speed now, prising a double up out of the equally charismatic Rafi Amit with A-8-5-4 making top two pair on an A-8-5 flop before sealing the deal with a boat on the river. The chips went sailing over to the Fish who now has 55,000 in chips.

Unfortunately, the boat theme stops there as Devilfish has selfishly left his sailor's hat at home, although the temptation to photoshop one in is very strong indeed...

Roland 1, Tony G 0

One of poker's top athletes
One of poker's top athletes
With the far-from-timid figures of Tony G and Roland de Wolfe sitting next door to one another, the score is sure to rise further than 1-0, but at the moment, Roland has his nose out in front, scoring today's opener with a 15k bet on the river of a {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{A-Spades} board.

The 'on ya bike' G-ster called only to be met by the "2 pair" announcement of the Wolfe man, following by the revealing of an {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for top two.

Tony smirked as he mucked, but I think he's already plotting revenge.

My prediction for the next post? Roland 1, Tony G 1. Only time will tell...
