Antonin Teisseire Eliminated in 4th Place (42,356)

Antonin Teisseire says good bye in fourth place.
Antonin Teisseire says good bye in fourth place.

Action folded around to Antonin Teisseire in the small blind and he moved all in only to have Remi Bollengier snap-call from the big blind.

Showdown
Teisseire: {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Bollengier: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop was a dagger through Teisseire's heart as it delivered Bollengier a set and an overwhelming lead. The Frenchman stood from his seat and then began to shake hands with his opponents when the {3-Diamonds} turn left him drawing dead. The {8-Diamonds} was put out on the river for good measure and Teisseire exited to a nice round of applause from the French contingent.

Action folded around to Valentin Detoc on the button and he moved all in for approximately 175,000 and received a call from Remi Bollengier in the big blind.

Showdown
Bollengier: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Detoc: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Detoc was dominated and stood from his seat as soon as he saw the {J-Clubs} in the window. The rest of the board completed {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and Detoc shook hands with the table before exiting in fifth place, leaving two Frenchman, an Italian and an American to do battle.

Esfandiari Opening Up a Lead

We didn't catch the amounts, but we do know that Salvatore Bonavena preflop raised from the cutoff and then called a three-bet from Antonio Esfandiari on the button. The {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop saw Bonavena check, and then check-raise to 200,000 when Esfandiari firedout 78,000.

"The Magician" thought for about 20 seconds before announcing that he was all in, and Bonavena fidgeted in his chair, thought for a minute, and then mucked his hand.

Bonavena Gets Frisky

Remi Bollengier opened for 25,000 from the cutoff and received a call from Salvatore Bonavena on the button. Antonio Esfandiari then three-bet to 78,000 from the small blind, Bollengier folded, and after thinking for a few moments, Bonavena moved all in.

Esfandiari hit the tank for a bit before releasing his hand, and he looked shocked when Salvatore showed is less than premium {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. "Nice hand," was all Esfandiari could say.

McLean Karr is eliminated

Action folded around to McLean Karr on the button and he moved all in for right around 170,000. Antonio Esfandiari then moved all in over the top from the small blind, the big got out of the way, and the cards were flipped on their backs.

Showdown
Karr: {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Esfandiari: {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Even though he was behind, Karr was all smiles and joked with his friend. "That's not a good flop," Karr quipped when the dealer put down the {6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. "Jack," Karr said in hopes of picking up an open-ended straight draw. "Ok, now a jack," he added after the {8-Spades} turn gave him a gut-shot. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't in the cards as the {6-Clubs} blanked. Karr shook hands with Esfandiari and then exited the stage in sixth place, good for 24,309.

Ashly Butler Eliminated in 7th Place (18,798)

Ashly Butler bust out in seventh place.
Ashly Butler bust out in seventh place.

After Antonin Teisseire had raised, Remi Bollengier three-bet to 52,000 from the button and Ashly Butler moved all in for roughly 190,000 from the big blind. Teisseire got out of the way and Bollengier made the call.

Showdown
Bollengier: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Butler: {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Butler joked that he'd been lucky catching aces on the river, but it wouldn't happen this time as the board ran out {2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Butler, who was in Europe for a wedding and had a few days to spare to play the WSOP Europe, shook hands with the remaining players and then took his leave in seventh place.

Blind-Versus-Blind Battle

Action folded around to Antonio Esfandiari in the small blind and he raised to 24,000, which Valentin Detoc called from the big. The {9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop saw Detoc call a bet of 27,000 from Esfandiari, and then the dealer burned and turned the {7-Hearts}. Esfandiari fired again, this time 43,000, but quickly mucked when Detoc moved all in.
