Michael Mizrachi has been by far the most active player at this table, and after chipping up in small pots he just took down a serious one against Roger Hairabedian.
Hairabedian limped for 4,000 and Mizrachi followed suit. Ville Mattila checked from the big blind, and three players saw the flop. The flop came down and the action was checked to Mizrachi who bet 10,500. Mattila folded and Hairabedian called.
On the turn the hit and Hairabedian check-called 26,000. The river brought out the and the Frenchman checked again. Mizrachi asked how much the pot was, and the dealer announced it was 87,000. He bet 45,000 and Hairabedian went into the tank.
After about two minutes he folded handing Mizrachi the chip lead. "Good fold," Mizrachi said as he showed the .
Jussi Ryynanen raised to 7,000 before the flop and received a call from Michael Mizrachi. The flop came and Ryynanen continued out for 9,000. Mizrachi called.
Fourth street brought the and Ryynanen led out once again, this time making it 19,000 to go. Mizrachi called for a second time and the river was the . Ryynanen carefully counted out 37,000 and placed them in the middle. The exact moment the chips touched the felt Mizrachi verbally announced a call.
Rynannen showed for a pair of aces, but was ultimately behind the straight of Mizrachi's . Mizrachi has now brought his stack back over the two hundred thousand mark.
Roger Hairabedian was under the gun and he limped for 3,000, and this was the start of a serious multi-way pot. Michael Mizrachi, Joe Hachem, Jussi Ryynanen, Jason Mercier and Michel Abecassis all joined the fun and six players saw the flop.
The flop brought out , and all six players checked. On the turn the showed up and Mercier checked again. Abecassis bet 10,000 and Mizrachi called. The action was folded back around to Mercier who went into the tank. He asked the dealer how much was in the pot, and eventually he announced a pot-sized raise to 58,000.
Abecassis and Mizrachi folded giving Mercier some valuable chips to play with.
"I had almost folded for 1,500 extra, but when he called I had to," Mercier said pointing at Ryynanen.
"You had ?" Mizrachi asked.
Mercier jokingly replied, "I was bluffing yo!" as both players cracked a smile. Mercier is up to over 100,000 and a step closer to his rivals at the final table.
Roger Hairabedian limped from under the gun plus one and Michael Mizrachi followed suit from the next seat over. Jussi Nevanlinna peeked at his hand and announced a pot sized raise, making it 16,500 to go. It folded back to Hairabedian who called and Mizrachi did the same.
The three saw a flop of and Hairabedian led out with a 10,000 bet. Mizrachi flat called and Nevanlinna did as well. The turn brought the and Hairabedian checked.
Mizrachi asked how much was in the pot before checking, prompting Nevanlinna to move all in for 52,000. Hairabedian folded and Mizrachi rolled his eyes.
"I flopped it," Mizrachi remarked as he flung his cards to the middle. Nevanlinna was able to drag in the pot and boost his stack by a significant amount.
The pots are still very small at the final table, and Michel Abecassis was one of the players who already managed to take down a pot.
Abecassis raised to 6,000 pre flop and was only called by Michael Mizrachi.
"You get four cards!" Mizrachi jokingly said as the other players quickly folded.
The flop came down and Abecassis bet 9,000. Mizrachi quickly called , and the turn brought out the . Abecassis tanked for about 30 seconds before he put out a 19,000-chip bet. Mizrachi double-checked his cards and threw them into the muck.
We're mere moments away from beginning a final table that will crown the third champion of the 2012 World Series of Poker Europe. Roger Hairabedian was able to rise above the field during Day 2 play to claim the top spot among the chip counts. The path to victory will not be easy for Hairabedian, however, as the final table includes such names as Michael Mizrachi, Joe Hachem, and Jason Mercier.
Day 2 began with only 25 players but despite the small size of the field it took some time to whittle down to the final table. Names such as Aubin Cazals, Jan-Peter Jachtmann, and Ran Azor appeared back on the felt for Day 2 but were unable to make the money. Canadian pro Sam Chartier busted on the stone bubble, allowing Vanessa Selbst to come away from this event with a min-cash. When Bruno Fitoussi was eliminated in 10th place, the final table was set.
