Martirosian Wins WSOP Online $10K HU Championship; Vieira Gets Bracelet #3 in $25K GGMillion$

Another bracelet round-up from the 2023 WSOP Online is fresh off the press, and it's been a busy week over at GGPoker, with a bunch of high-profile events wrapping up and huge scores being dished out to the winners.

The Heads-Up Championship and $25,000 GGMillion$ SHR were just a couple of the big ones to play out, with the former having one of the craziest hero calls you'll see all year.

No More Near Misses for Martirosian

Some 127 players took their shot in one of the more prestigious events on the WSOP Online schedule, the $10,000 Heads Up NLH Championship.

Naturally, poker's elite rocked up to get the biggest slice of the $1,231,900 and further cement their legacies as greats of the game.

In the end, the last player standing was Artur Martirosian, who continued his impressive 2023 form, which has been littered with huge paydays. While it's been an incredible year on the live and online felt for the Russian, it's been full of near misses when it comes to capturing marquee titles with his third and second-place finishes in the 2023 PCA Main Event and $250,000 WSOP Super High Roller being the pick of the bunch. Now, the monkey has firmly been shaken from his back as he defeated Petr Knopp in the finale to win his first WSOP bracelet.

Just eight players made the money with the likes of Jonas Hagstrom, Biao Ding, Goran Mandic and Linglin Zeng locking up the $75,839 min-cash.

In the semi-finals, Martirosian overcame his Finnish opponent Heikki Piira while Knopp beat reigning WSOP $50,000 High Roller champion Leon Sturm.

Bracelet #3 for Vieira

Just 14 of the 145 entries made it through to the final day of the $25,000 GGMillion$ Super High Roller Championship, which saw Felipe Ketzer come into Day 2 with the chip lead, ahead of the likes of online savants such as Wiktor Malinowski and Niklas Astedt.

Payouts were reserved for the top 15 players, and after the bubble burst, Jacopo Achille was the first player to bust inside the money, which marked the end of the opening session.

When play resumed, all eyes were on the bracelet and $760,396 set aside for the winner. Surprisingly, Ketzer was among those to bow out before the final table, which was formed following the elimination of Martirosian in tenth place.

Elior Sion, who won a bracelet in the series' Short Deck Championship, departed the FT in ninth and was then followed out by Chris Hunichen, Mikita Badziakouski and Astedt.

German prodigy Sturm then ousted compatriot Thomas Muehloecker in a blind vs. blind encounter. Sturm's king-deuce flushed out his opponent's pocket threes. Shortly after, Sturm was on the wrong end of a preflop cooler. Now second in chips, he moved all in with ace-king from under the gun only to run into aces held by chip leader Joao Vieira.

The Portuguese pro had most of the chips at three-handed play and managed to scoop in the rest after downing Malinowski and then sealing the victory against Pieter Aerts in heads-up play.

Dzivielevski Misses Out on Third Bracelet of the Year

After claiming his second bracelet in 2023 in the previous WSOP Online round-up, Yuri Dzivielevski was en route to a hattrick of WSOP titles in the space of a few months. The Brazilian maestro made another final table but fell short of winning his fifth bracelet and bowed out in sixth place.

The eventual winner of #20: $1,000 DOUBLE CHANCE NLH was Lithuania's Marius Kudzmanas, who topped the 1,119-entry field and was awarded $145,523 from the $1,063,050 prize pool.

The victory meant that Kudzmanas more than doubled his WSOP earnings as he crossed the $250,000 mark.

Luck of the Irish for Mc Dermott

Ireland's Marc Macdonnell made the poker headlines last week after triggering the record-breaking 'The Deal' jackpot for $826,393.67 on PokerStars. That good fortune then found its way to compatriot Sven Mc Dermott, who took down #21: $1,500 WSOP GGMasters HR Freezeout for $253,823.

The payout was the biggest Mc Dermott had received throughout his career and improved on the $69,100 he won at the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship, where he finished 44th.

As expected, the players turned out in their droves and created a 1,358-entry field that made for a $1,935,150 prize pool.

Zobian Bags His Maiden Bracelet

Aram Zobian beat Taiwanese pro Nevan Chang in heads-up to win his first piece of WSOP hardware after the former reigned supreme in #25: $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty.

Zoban narrowly bested Chang's prize, with the duo boosting their bankrolls by $50,393 and $50,267, respectively. However, the champion's additional $59,229 from bounties propelled his final score to $109,622, while Chang ended up with a total of $63,428.

Notable names to make the final table included Gilles "23 Savage" Simon and Fabiano Kovalski, who is currently starring in the new poker show, the Mystery Cash Challenge.

The tournament was well attended with 2,516 entries and saw another seven-figure prize pool, with the final tally being $1,258,000.

Yacov Picks Up PLO Title

#27: $500 FIFTY STACK Pot-Limit Omaha was one of the tournaments delayed by the technical issues that GGPoker experienced last week. That event has now reached its conclusion with Amit Ben Yacov being the player to walk away as the winner.

Yacov turned $500 into $76,703 after outlasting the 1,080-entry field.
