Allan into the Lead

Ken Demlakian opened with a min-raise from the small blind to 40,000, but David Allan wasnt going to fold for that price in the big blind as the two took a flop of {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Demlakian bet 46,000 and Allan made the call before both checked the {k-Clubs} turn.

The river brought the {4-Hearts} and Demlakian checked again to Allan who slid out a bet of 55,000. Demlakian made the call but couldnt beat the {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} of Allan. With that pot Allan is now into the chip lead.

Watch out folks, David Allan is Back in Business!

Back-to-back hands have gone the way of the online gun, to get Allan off the short stack.

Both hands were a little unusual. The first saw all three pay 40,000 preflop to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Action checked around and the turn brought the {6-Hearts}. Ken Demlakian checked and Allan bet 45,000. Both Jordan Westmorland and Demlakian made the call as the river was the {2-Diamonds}. All thing checked it down. Demlakian showed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for ace-high, with Westmorlands {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} also pairless, as Allan collected the pot with {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for just a pair of sevens.

Next hand, Allan raised the small blind to 40,000 and Westmorland called to see a flop of {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Both players checked before Allan bet out 30,000 on the repeat {k-Diamonds} turn. Westmorland called and the river fell the {2-Diamonds}. Allan thought for some time before bombing the river for 130,000. Westmorland made the call but mucked when Allan showed {k-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a full house.

Westmorland is now on the short stack as Allan has recovered nicely to sit with almost one million chips.

What's Happening

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

David Allan has been the most active at the table, letting himself blind down a little before three-betting all in. He has done that a couple more times here during the final three, now sitting with around 440,000 in chips. Ken Demlakian and Jordan Westmorland have rumbled in a couple of pots, but have checked it down to the river and mostly stayed away from each other.

Ricky Kroesen Eliminated in 4th Place (NZD$34,200)

Ricky Kroesen - 4th Place
Ricky Kroesen - 4th Place

Ricky Kroesen had been struggling to find a good spot or good cards to make a move for the last hour or so. He got a walk in the big blind and showed ace-king, and hoped that would be the start of his recovery. Unfortunately two hands later, it was all over.

Kroesen moved all in from the button for 270,000 with {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} but Jordan Westmorland woke up with {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} in the big blind and made the call. The flop of {2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} wasnt bad for Kroesen but he couldnt catch up through the {7-Diamonds} turn or {k-Hearts} river.

Kroesen takes home NZD$34,200 for his fourth place finish.

Ken Gets Them Back Off Allan

David Allan was under the gun when he raised it up to 32,000. Ken Demlakian was only player to give Allan some action, calling out of the small blind.

Both the players checked the {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and a {7-Diamonds} was dealt on the turn. This time Demlakian checked and then called the bet of 22,000 from Allan. An {a-Diamonds} on the river would see Demlakian check and this time raise it up to 185,000 when Allan bet 62,000. Allan didn't take too long to call, but then mucked immediately when Demlakian tabled {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a flopped set.
