Another Nail Biter

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

The entire hand lasted probably around 10 or more minutes and it was Jack Hu, who put ultimate pressure on Sheng Sun to extend his lead and claim half of the chips in play. Sun raised to 75,000 from the small blind and was called to see a flop of {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades}.

Hu raised from 80,000 to 280,000 and was called by Sun, yet the {10-Hearts} turn was checked by both players. On the {4-Hearts} river, Sun checked and tanked for a good five minutes before folding to a shove of Hu.

They Can't Stop

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Jack Hu limped in for 30,000 from the small blind and called the raise to 75,000 by Scott Davies. On the {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, Hu check-raised from 54,000 to 161,000 and Davies made the triangle sign to announce all in. Hu quickly folded and the pot went to the American.

"I can't fold every time," the American remarked. "That was a punt, I was punting," Hu replied with a grin.

The chips between them are flowing so quickly from left to right and back whereas Sheng Sun stays in the background for now.

Hu Takes From Davies ... Again

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Jack Hu defended his big blind against the min raise of Scott Davies and they saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Hu check-called a bet of 60,000 and did so again for 100,000 on the {2-Spades} turn. The {K-Spades} river slowed down both players and they checked, Hu announced two pair and his {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} won the pot.

Hu Cracks Aces

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

After flopping a flush draw and turning a gutshot, Jack Hu fired the river of a {3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board for 269,000 and initial raiser Scott Davies eventually made the call after verifying with the dealer said amount. The American then mucked his {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} as Hu had him beat with {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for a straight.

That was pretty much the biggest notable hand of three-handed play so far.

Kim Wittendorff Eliminated in 4th Place (HK$369,300)

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Kim Wittendorff
Kim Wittendorff

Within two hands, Kim Wittendorff put everything into it and crashed out with massive style and six-high! In the first hand, Scott Davies three-bet to 110,000 out of the small blind and Wittendorff called to see a flop of {Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The Dane shoved and that settled things.

But the second hand was surely some masterpiece of fireworks. Davies opened to 40,000 and Sheng Sun called from the button, so did Wittendorff in the small blind. After a flop of {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Spades}, the Dane check-raised from 55,000 to 200,000 and Sun had quite a decision once again.

"If you have something, just go all in and let's go," the usual tactic to get it in by Wittendorff, who had 334,000 chips behind. Instead, Sun just flat-called with around 500,000 behind and it was sure to turn into a crucial pot.

The {5-Diamonds} on the turn brought the expected shove of Wittendorff and now he wanted his opponent to fold: "Just fold, I got two pair. You still have half a million there and loads of time. Do you really think I gonna risk my tournament on a flush draw?"

Sun replied in English "I don't care about your two pair, I got a draw. I am a fish." With the loud applause of the local rail, Sun indeed made the call and they flipped over their cards.

Wittendorff: {4-Spades}{6-Spades}
Sun: {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {3-Diamonds} river bricked off and ten-high was the winner hand of that massive pot and final position for Wittendorff, who takes home HK$369,300 for his fourth place finish.

Huge Double for Davies

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Kim Wittendorff opened the action with a raise to 45,000 and Scott Davies defended his big blind to see a heads-up flop of {6-Spades}{A-Hearts}{2-Spades}. The American check-raised from 65,000 to 170,000 and Wittendorff clicked it back to another 240,000 on top after standing up and checking out the stack size of his opponent. Davies wasted little time in moving all in for another 384,000 in total and the Dane called off:

Wittendorff: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Davies: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

It was all over after the {3-Diamonds} turn and the {J-Diamonds} river was already meaningless. The American has regained a commanding lead while Wittendorff plummeted to the bottom of the counts with four left.

The Same Pattern

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jack Hu raised the button to 42,000 and made a continuation bet on the {5-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. Sheng Sun had check-called out of the big blind and both then checked the {K-Diamonds} on the turn. Sun checked the {K-Clubs} river and Hu over-bet for 284,000 into a pot of what looked like 190,000. Sun gave it some thought and released his cards into the muck.

It wasn't exactly the first time that Hu made this play and most of the time he got through with it.

Jung Jung Tang Eliminated in 5th Place (HK$295,400)

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jung Jung Tang
Jung Jung Tang

Shortly after her double up through Scott Davies, Jung Jung Tang moved all in for roughly 12 big blinds and was called by Kim Wittendorff in the small blind.

Tang: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Wittendorff: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

After the {7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, Tang asked for a six before realizing the mistake and then cheering for a diamond. Wittendorff wanted the dealer to bring a blank five, but he was also happy about the {4-Hearts} turn and {4-Clubs} river that completed a full house. The last woman in the field has been eliminated in 5th place and takes home HK$295,400 for her efforts.

Pure Frustration

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

It wasn't the first time that Jung Jung Tang, the last woman in the field, has mucked her cards with pure frustration written all over her face. Now she even mucked from the small blind and Sheng Sun received a walk.

The hand hand, Scott Davies raised and had to call the shove of Tang for 114,000 with the {10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. The two live cards versus {Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts} immediately connected with the {10-Diamonds} as door card but the {Q-Spades} showed up right after. The rest of the board ran out {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Tang had reason to cheer eventually.
