Another Tricky Spot for Wittendorff

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The final table seems to provide a lot of hands that get Kim Wittendorff into tricks spots and difficult decisions. It isn't the first time he has been tanking to make up his mind and it was once again in a battle of the blinds against Jack Hu. The latter raised from 125,000 to 310,000 on the river of a {2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board with about 160,000 chips in the middle until the final community card.

Wittendorff asked the dealer to pull in his bet to visualize how much more he has to call and for what portion of his own stack. The Dane stood up, talked to himself about all the possible hand combinations out there and it took more than five minutes for him to call. Hu mucked his cards and Wittendorff asked floor staff whether or not he has to show, which is not required.

Full House and No Value

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jack Hu raised to 42,000 from under the gun and Kim Wittendorff called out of the big blind. "You got about 500 there?" the chip leader asked and the Dane replied with a "yeah, well less than that." Wittendorff checked down a board of {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Hu didn't fall for the trap, checking behind.

The Dane flipped over {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flopped full house and Hu grinned, flashing his {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Sun Makes Davies Fold

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The full action of the hand us unknown, but there was a continuation bet of Sheng Sun on a flop of {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Scott Davies check-called out of the big blind. On the {8-Spades} turn, Davies check-called a bet of 115,000 and checked again after the {7-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Sun made it quite expensive, 255,000 with slightly more than that behind. Davies put down the cap of his hoodie, then put the sunglasses on the bald head, studied the board and suddenly glanced over to his opponent. "Will you show the bluff if I fold?" he asked before mucking the cards about 15 seconds later.

Sun quickly mucked his cards and both players joked after the hand. "Nice hand, nice bluff. You got one through," the American continued and fell below the million mark for the first time in a few hours.

Mostly Raise and Take It

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The first four hands of the new level saw only one board to the river, besides that everything else was done preflop with a standard raise already.

Sheng Sun opened to 43,000 and was called by Kim Wittendorff from one seat over. On the {J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop both players checked and the Dane called a delayed continuation bet worth 35,000 on the {9-Clubs} turn. The {8-Clubs} on the river triggered a second barrel worth 70,000 by Sun and that was enough to shut down all further action.

Sun Folds After Three Minutes

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jack Hu opened the action with a raise to 37,000 from under the gun and Sheng Sun three-bet to 97,000 out of the small blind. Kim Wittendorff tanked for a good minute before announcing all in and Hu quickly let go. Sun however asked the dealer to pull in the raising chips and let him know how much more it is to call.

Once that was done, it was 438,000 to go and Wittendorff mumbled something along the lines of "just fold it."

The Dane continued after a while with "I would show you one card if I could, but I am not allowed" and tried further small talk to get a reaction. Sun did look over, then counted his own stack again and checked the one of Jung Jung Tang. In the case of a loss, they would have been even as short stacks of the table.

Ultimately, the Chinese folded and was shown the {A-Spades}.

Thin Valuebet by Hu

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Davies took down a pot against Sheng Sun after making a small continuation bet on a flop of {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

He also tangled with fellow big stack Jack Hu, but both players kept the action rather low and the American paid off a small value bet on the {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Hearts} river after a battle of the blinds. It was 42,000 to call and that amount went over to the new chip leader in seat 1, as Hu's {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} won the pot, Davies mucked the {7-Hearts}.

The American also raised and folded to a three-bet of Sun the hand after to drop into second place.

Tang Shoves Into Hu

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jack Hu has been stealing a few more pots preflop with standard raises and then opened to 37,000 from the button. Jung Jung Tang called out of the big blind and check-called a continuation bet on the {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop for 33,000. On the {5-Hearts} turn, Tang moved all in and Hu mucked his cards as quickly with a grin on the face and the words "nice hand."
