Well that didn't take long. On our first walkthrough of the field we heard Bryan "Devo" Devonshire yell "Wowwww." We went over to his table, and wow indeed, as we saw that the young gun was already all in and drawing dead! We missed the action, but the board read , and both players showed that they had a straight.

The inaugural World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles is moments away from having cards in the air. This Circuit stop is the first WSOP branded event in the Los Angeles area and expectations are high. Los Angeles is second only to Las Vegas in terms of American poker destinations. “With the WSOP Circuit Tour breaking records at every stop, it was finally the right time to come to LA for a signature mid-season event,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart.
The “Bike” has long been one of the premier card rooms in the country since California started allowing flop games in 1987. While many of poker’s TV faces are playing bankroll-busting events in the Bahamas, the Circuit stop has been pulling great numbers for their preliminary events.
“The process of bringing the World Series of Poker to Los Angeles has been a long time in the making, and we are very pleased with the finalization of our partnership,” stated Hashem Minaiy, the Bike’s Managing Partner and CEO. “Players have wanted to play a WSOP event in L.A. where poker has always been king, and the Bicycle Casino is considered a key venue for players worldwide.”
The event will have the same two bullet format as the other Circuit Main Events. The first flight gets underway at noon and the field will play nine levels. Any player that busts can buy in for the second flight or return tomorrow and buy in before action gets underway.
