With the Cameras Rolling, Bill Chen Goes All in

Timing is everything for Bill Chen. ESPN stopped by his table in the middle of a hand that put Chen all in. He began the hand with queens in the hole and failed to improve the rest of the way. When it was time to show down the cards, Bill said "Just a pair," in a tone of assumed defeat. His opponent then said, "Me too," and showed a pair of sevens in the hole.

The hand boosted both Chen's stack (17,000) and his confidence; the usually stoic Chen held his heart in relief in a rare display of emotion at the table.

"Bumpereno" Bounces Back

"Tell them, 'Bumpereno's on a banana peel,'" said Bill Munley when I asked him how things were going. Earlier today he had jumped to 15000 chips, but then slid all the way down to 900.

Over the last five minutes, he's won a string of pots, shouting "TOUCHDOWN!" after each one he rakes in. He's up to 12800 now and in great spirits. We'll keep you posted on his impressive comeback.

Diane Cobb Makes a Big Full House

Diane Cobb, one of four women remaining in the field, just took down a monster pot with a full house against her opponent's straight.

The fireworks came on sixth street; Diane was showing {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}, to her opponents {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. After a series of raises and reraises, they had each committed 4800 to the pot on sixth street alone. On the river, Diane fired another 1600 bet and was called by her opponent who turned over an ace-high straight. Diane gleefully turned over her hole cards, exposing eights full of threes, and she was overheard saying "I had 'em rolled up!"

Diane now has 28000 chips.

John Robertson Moving on Up

John was dealt split kings right out of the gate and called bets from an opponent on every street, failing to improve his lone pair of kings. He was surprised to find out that they were all he'd need to take down the pot, bringing his stack up to 35000.

Forrest Always Fires Away

Maintaining his reputation for playing relentlessly aggressive poker, Ted Forrest just took down a big pot betting every street and getting his opponent to fold on the river, showing {2-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Ted currently has about 25000 chips.
