Hands #43-47: Few Showdowns

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #43: Brain Rast opened to 40,000 from the small blind and Paul Volpe called from the big blind. Rast picked up two cards and Volpe picked up one new card. Rast checked and Volpe checked it back. Volpe tabled {3-}{3-} for a pair, Rast mucked his cards, and Volpe was pushed the pot.

Hand #44: Volpe was under the gun and raised to 32,000 and Jason Mercier made it 92,000 to go from the button. Action folded back to Volpe and he folded as well.

Hand #45: Daniel Negreanu opened with a raise and picked up the blinds and antes.

Hand #46: Rast makes it 40,000 to go from his button and Jason Mercier calls from the big blind. Mercier pulls one new card and Rast opts for two. Mercier checked and Rast moved out 65,000. Mercier folded and Rast was pushed the pot.

Hand #47: Volpe made it 32,000 from the button and Negreanu called from the big blind. Both players picked up one new card at the draw. Negreanu checked, Volpe bet 125,000, and Negreanu folded his cards.

Hand #41: Jason Mercier opened to 32,000 and collected the blinds and antes.

Hand #42: Paul Volpe made it 32,000 from the button before Larry Wright moved all in from the small blind for 245,000 with Volpe making the call.

Both players drew one card as Volpe drew the {J-} to go along with his {8-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. Wright was still drawing live, but caught a {Q-} and was sent to the rail in 5th place for $47,792.

Hand #35: Jason Mercier raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #36: Brian Rast pumped it up to 38,000 from the button and Larry Wright called from the big blind. Wright picked up one new card and Rast stood pat. Both players checked and Wright rolled over a nine perfect - {9-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Rast mucked and Wright raked in the pot.

Hand #37: Daniel Negreanu was under the gun and raised to 45,000. The rest of the table folded and Negreanu won the blinds and antes.

Hand #38: Rast was under the gun and raised the action to 45,000. Every player folded and Rast took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #39: Mercier raised his button to 32,000 and Negreanu called from the small blind. Rast let go of his big blind, leaving the duo heads up to the draw. Negreanu pulled one new card while Mercier stood pat. Negreanu led for 75,000 and Mercier called. Negreanu showed {9-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} which was good enough to take down the pot.

Hand #40: Negreanu opened his button to 45,000. Volpe moved all in over the top from the big blind and it folded back to Negreanu who kicked his cards in as well.

Hands #30-34: Negreanu Draws the Ten Against Wright

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 3,000 ante

Hand #30: Larry Wright opened to 30,000 and Jason Mercier three-bet next to act to 84,000 to force folds from the blinds and Wright.

Hand #31: Daniel Negreanu opened to 35,000 and Larry Wright made the call before standing pat as Negreanu announced he had two pair and drew two.

Wright checked dark and Negreanu pushed out 90,000 and Wright called with Negreanu tabling his {10-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} to scoop the pot.

Hand #32: Daniel Negreanu opened to 35,000 and Paul Volpe called from the button. Negreanu drew one and Volpe drew one also.

Negreanu checked, and Volpe tossed in 56,000 as Negreanu deliberated for close to two minutes before folding.

Hand #33: Brian Rast raised to 31,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #34: Paul Volpe raised to 27,000 and Larry Wright made the call before Jason Mercier three-bet the button to 88,000. The blinds quickly mucked as Volpe called and Wright folded.

Volpe drew one as Mercier stood pat and Volpe checked to Mercier. Both players checked and Mercier tabled his {10-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to better Volpe's {J-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.
