Small Pots for Saechao

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

On the first hand, Kao Chieng Saechao completed his small blind and Nikolay Yosifov raised pot for 240,000. Saechao made the call and the flop {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} was dealt, bringing no betting action.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and this time Saechao led out for 500,000. Yosifov quickly folde and Saechao showed {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{x-} for trips and a straight draw.

The hand after, it folded to Saechao who potted on the button to 280,000, called by Matt Mamiya in the big blind. The flop was {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Mamiya check-folded after Saechao bet 680,000. Saechao quickly showed {j-}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{x-} to the table.

Humphrey Triples Again, Saechao Left Steaming

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Matthew Humphrey
Matthew Humphrey

On the first hand back from break, Kao Chieng Saechao raised to 200,000 from under the gun, Matt Mamiya and Paulo Villena called, and Matthew Humphrey potted to 1,080,000 from the small blind. Saechao and Mamiya called.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Humphrey moved in for 435,000. Both Saechao and Mamiya called to see the {j-Diamonds} turn. Saechao checked and Mamiya bet 800,000.

Saechao took his time before folding, then slammed the table when Mamiya showed {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. "Your aces are good," Mamiya told Humphrey as he turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

The {10-Diamonds} came on the river and Humphrey tripled up for the second time at the final table. Saechao got up from his seat in frustration, claiming he folded a straight that would've won the pot and eliminated Humphrey.

"How do you bet there? You had nothing," he told Mamiya.

Gabe Ramos Eliminated in 10th Place ($8,407)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 30,000 ante
Gabe Ramos
Gabe Ramos

It folded to Kao Chieng Saechao in the small blind who raised to 180,000 and Gabe Ramos decided to pot for 540,000 in the big blind, with 220,000 left behind. Saechao tanked for a minute before saying "You know what? Let's do it!" while sending a chip for the call.

The flop brought {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Saechao bet, immediately called by Ramos with his last chips:

Gabe Ramos: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Kao Chieng Saechao: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Ramos had two pair and the nut flush draw, but a {9-Diamonds} showed up on the turn to give the straight to Saechao. The {2-Clubs} river didn't change anything and Ramos made his way to the payout desk.

Amokrane Slides More as Clock Is Called

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 30,000 ante

Nikolay Yosifov limped in from early position and was joined in the pot by Matt Mamiya, Mourad Amokrane, Matthew Mlsna in the small blind, and Kao Chieng Saechao in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and Yosifov bet 100,000. Only Amokrane called to see the {j-Clubs} fall on the turn. Yosifov bet another 275,000 and Amokrane called after tanking for about two minutes.

The river came the {3-Clubs} and now it was Yosifov's turn to stop and think. After a few minutes he slid forward a bet of 650,000. Amokrane, who barely had the bet covered, went into the tank again before the clock was called.

A tournament official began counting down and Amokrane's hand was declared dead after 30 seconds. Amokrane, the massive chip leader at the start of the final table, is now one of the shorter stacks.

Nelson Doubles on Amokrane

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 30,000 ante

Dustin Nelson raised in early position to 175,000 and Kao Chieng Saechao made the call, followed by Mourad Amokrane in the small blind.

The flop revealed {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Amokrane led out for 220,000, only called by Nelson. Things heated on the {a-Spades} turn. Amokrane sent another bet for 240,000 and Nelson moved all-in for 1,605,000. Amokrane went deep into the tank and opted to call after the clock has been called:

Dustin Nelson: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Mourad Amokrane: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Amokrane had the straight but the river fell the {q-Diamonds}, giving the full house to Nelson for the double up while Amokrane lost half of his stack in just a few hands.
