Humphrey Takes Last Pot Before Break

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Four players, including Matthew Humphrey in the cutoff and Mourad Amokrane in the big blind, saw a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Amokrane bet out 225,000 and only Humphrey called.

Both players checked the {10-Spades} turn before Amokrane bet 255,000. Humphrey raised to 1,200,000 and, as the tournament clock went into the break, Amokrane tanked for about two minutes before laying his hand down, showing a jack and a nine.

Mlsna Makes the Right Call

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

In a limped pot in a blind-versus-blind situation, Matthew Mlsna bet 175,000 on a flop {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Matt Maiya made the call.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Mlsna bet 500,000 this time, which was called once more by Mamiya.

The {a-Spades} completed the board on the river and Mlsna checked before facing a bet worth 600,000 from Mamiya.

Mlsna ended up calling, showing {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-} for a flopped straight. Mamiya sent {k-Diamonds}{q-}{10-Diamonds}{3-} into the muck.

Jeff Gross Eliminated in 7th Place ($17,712)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

Jeff Gross had been quiet today, not getting involved in many pots. One of the pots he did play turned out to be his last of the tournament.

Gross raised to 350,000 with around 200,000 behind and Matthew Humphrey raised enough to put Gross all in. Gross quickly called.

Jeff Gross: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Matthew Humphrey: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Humphrey paired his queen on the {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop to take a big lead in the hand. The rest of the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Gross went around the table wishing each of the players good luck before heading for the payout desk.

Villena Wonders What Amokrane Has

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Paulo Villena raised to 310,000 from under the gun and Mourad Amokrane called in the small blind. In the big blind, Jeff Gross tanked for about a minute, counting down the rest of his chips, before deciding to fold.

Both players checked through to the river on a board of {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}, when Amokrane led out with 380,000. Villena considered the call for a moment before deciding to fold. Amokrane showed the {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

"What did you have? Was that an ace," Villena asked.

"No ace," Amokrane said while keeping his other two cards a secret.

Kao Chieng Saechao
Kao Chieng Saechao

Kao Chieng Saechao raised to 300,000 and it folded to Mourad Amokrane who potted on the button. It came back to Saechao who quickly called all in with his last chips for the following showdown:

Kao Chieng Saechao: {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Mourad Amokrane: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Saechao had to hit on the board for the double up, but the dealer showed the {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} ranout to give the winning hand to Amokrane and Saechao made his way to the payout desk to collect his $13,610.

Amokrane Takes One

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Matthew Humphrey raised to 250,000 and it was called by Kao Chieng Saechao in the cutoff and Mourad Amokrane in the small blind.

The flop gave {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and the three players checked to see a {5-Clubs} on the turn. This time Amokrane led out for 240,000 and it was enough to grab the pot without more resistance.

Amokrane's Turn to Double Through Saechao

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Kao Chieng Saechao raised to 350,000 from the button before Mourad Amokrane went all in for 1,070,000. "Alright, let's go. I call," Saechao said, slamming in his chips and showing {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

Amokrane needed help with {a-Clubs}{k-}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades} as the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop gave him an open-ended straight draw. He missed the {9-Diamonds} turn, but spiked the straight on the {8-Spades} river to double up.

"You had ace-high. How are you going to win? You had nothing," a frustrated Saechao said as he sent over another double-up.
