Narayanan Puts Gaston in the Blender

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Shiv Narayanan opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 800. Clayton Olvera called before Tyler Gaston three-bet to 3,800 from the hijack. Both Narayanan and Olvera called.

Gaston continued for 4,300 on a monotone 10?7?4? flop and only Narayanan made the call.

The turn J? rolled off and Gaston sized-up to 13,700. Narayanan moved all in for 84,000 and Gaston went into the tank. "Pocket tens no good?" said Gaston before mucking his cards.

Bidinger Shows Down a Straight

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Four players saw a flop of K?J?3? where a player in middle position bet 2,500. The cutoff then raised to 10,000 and only Ken Bidinger called in the small blind.

The turn was the A? and the cutoff bet 5,000 out of turn. Bidinger checked and the bet was allowed to stand as Bidinger called. Both players then checked the 4? river.

The cutoff showed K?J? for two pair, but Bidinger had Q?10? for a straight to win the pot. "If I shove do you call?" he asked his opponent.

"Not with that board," the cutoff replied.

Jon Pardy
Jon Pardy

Jon Pardy raised from under the gun, receiving calls from a player in early position, the button and the big blind.

The 7?10?A? flop saw the action check to Pardy, who continued for 2,000. Everyone but the button made the call.

The 5? turn saw the big blind check again. Pardy fired once more, this time for 7,000, earning two quick folds from his opponents.

As he raked in the pot, he tabled the A? for at least top pair.

Nigh Sends Karnofsky Out

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Harlan Karnofsky raised from early position and was three-bet to 3,300 by Peter Nigh in middle position. Action folded back around to Karnofsky, who four-bet to 8,600.

Undeterred, Nigh put in a five-bet, which was enough to put Karnofsky all in for approximately 33,000 total. Karnofsky quickly called and hands were revealed.

Harlan Karnofsky: A?K?All in
Peter Nigh: A?A?

It was the worst scenario for Karnofsky, and the J?K?9?8?2? wasn't enough — eliminating the early chip leader from contention.

Zeharia Getting Blessed by the Deck

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Assaf Zeharia and Kahle Burns were heads-up on a board of K?8?J?10?K? with around 12,000 in the pot when Burns bet 2,500 from the big blind. Zeharia then moved all in from the cutoff.

Burns had around 23,000 remaining and went into the tank for several minutes. "Flush is good?" Zeharia asked him.

"If you don't have a flush, why do you think," Zeharia added as Burns continued to think through the decision for his tournament life.

"Am I supposed to fold if I don't have a flush?" Burns replied.

"Take your time. Four minutes you have, but not too long into break," Zeharia added, pointing to the clock that continued to tick down towards dinner break.

Burns eventually folded and Zeharia showed A?Q? for a royal flush. "You have to show that one," Burns said.

"This guy has been getting blessed by the deck," a tablemate said as Zeharia added more to his massive stack.
