2024 World Series of Poker
Love him or hate him, Sean Perry is back in the poker world — at least for one day — after a one-year hiatus to compete in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
The controversial poker pro turned sports bettor had built up a stack above 200,000 — 60,000 is the starting stack — by the Day 2abc dinner break on Sunday. During that break, he answered some questions about his return to the game for PokerNews, where he made some bold claims and addressed his haters.
Following a button raise by Adrian Garcia Galipienso, Simon Wilson called and they headed to the 10?10?3? flop. Wilson check-raised from 2,500 to 8,000 only for Garcia Galipienso to make it 18,500 to go. Wilson called and they saw the 4? on the turn. Wilson now led for 10,500 and Garcia Galipienso raised to 27,000.
The levelling war went to the Spaniard as Wilson tank-folded.

On a board of J?J?7?J? with a large pot already in the middle, the player in the cutoff bet 18,000 and Todd Witteles called on the button.
The 8? completed the board and it was checked to Witteles, who put 20,000 into the middle. His opponent looked him up and Witteles turned over A?A? for the nut full house, which was met with a frustrated muck to send the pot Witteles' way.

Action was picked up on the turn with the board showing 3?J?K?5? and roughly 20,000 in the pot.
Richard Ochs was in the small blind facing a bet from his opponent on the button of 16,000. Ochs then raised to put his opponent all in for 119,000. After spending several minutes in the tank, Ochs opponent made the call to put his tournament life at risk.
Button: A?K?
Richard Ochs: J?3?
Ochs flopped the best of it with his two pair, and after the 4? on the river, Ochs nearly doubled up and eliminated his opponent.

Heads-up on a board of 3?10?9?J?, Shunsuke Tokoo bet 8,000 from early position and Sergio Castelluccio called in middle position.
The river was the 7? and Tokoo led out for around 7,000. Castelluccio quickly called.
Tokoo then turned over 10?10? for a set and Castelluccio mucked.

Ryan Knoll was all in for 12,000 chips and was up against Day 1b chipleader George Dolofan.
Ryan Knoll: Q?10?
George Dolofan: A?5?
Dolofan flopped an ace on A?3?4? to take a massive lead, but the J? turn brought Knoll a gutshot. His straight draw came in on the K? river and he doubled up to stay alive in the Main Event.

Action was joined at the river with the board reading 9?10?A?Q?Q?. From the button, David Manikos bet 30,500 into a pot of about 47,000.
Johannes Lehner was in the cutoff and moved all in to put Manikos to the test for his remaining chips.
He thought for several moments and after multiple minutes, the clock was called. The floor came over and gave the countdown to zero where the hand was declared dead.

Maria Ho raised to 3,000 from early position. She was called by a player in middle position and Darren Kennedy out of the big blind.
The three players checked the 9?7?9? flop to see the 6? come on the turn. Kennedy led out for 3,500 and Ho called. The middle position player then raised to 9,000 which only got called by Kennedy.
Kennedy checked the 5? river and his opponent bet 40,000, which was enough to put Kennedy all-in. Kennedy agonized over the decision for roughly a minute but eventually put in the call.
His opponent showed 7?6? for two pair, nines and sevens. Kennedy flipped over 8?7? for a straight to win the pot.

Erle Mankin was one of more than 200 late entrants on Day 2abc and he just turned some small profit after sending Giuseppe Pantaleo to the rail. The latter had jammed for 9,500 and the hijack clicked it back to 16,500. Mankin then pushed all-in for 49,000 to force out everyone else.
Giuseppe Pantaleo: Q?J?
Erle Mankin: Q?Q?
The board ran out 9?5?3?9?4? and Pantaleo was felted. He jokingly made a fuss about it in jest and then joked "it will sound to them as if it was a 200k pot". Mankin replied "it was to us" as he had been nursing a shorter stack thus far.
