Ferreira Unable to Claim Another Elimination

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Mauro Ferreira opened from early position and Justin Turner jammed all in from middle position for 130,000. The action folded back to Ferreira, who put in a swift call.

Justin Turner: 10?10? All in
Mauro Ferreira: 7?7?

The 9?8?A?6? runout gave Ferreira a straight draw, but the 3? river bricked out and doubled up Turner.

Big Stack Busts on Bubble w/ Kings vs. Aces in WSOP Main Event

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
WSOP Main Event
WSOP Main Event

On Day 4 of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, the 1,518th place finisher has busted. And that means every player still standing is guaranteed to go home with money and a profit.

The top 1,517 players in poker's most prestigious annual event are now all guaranteed at least $15,000, with the potential to win as much as $10 million. But for two players — Lucas Reeves and Christian Stratmeyer — the dream of winning all that money and becoming world champion ended Wednesday at quite an inopportune time. For one individual, the dream died in a kings versus aces situation, and the player with kings had a big stack.

Gibbons Gets a Present For Bubble Patience

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Joel Isla raised to 16,000 in the cutoff before Paul Gibbons moved all in for 95,000 on the button. The button reshoved and Isla folded ace-jack.

Paul Gibbons: A?K? All in
Opponent: Q?Q?

"It's a flipper," Gibbons' opponent said once the cards were revealed. The flop came A?J?4? and Gibbons took the lead with a pair of aces. The A? turn improved him to trips, and he held up through the 2? river to earn a double up.

"I folded kings on the bubble. That's my present," Gibbons said as he took the pot.

Bullimore Makes a Flush to Survive

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Christopher Bullimore moved all in from middle position and was looked up by Robert Thrash in late position.

Christopher Bullimore: A?J? All in
Robert Thrash: J?J?

Thrash was ahead and in a good position to score the knockout. The flop came K?10?6? to give Bullimore some hope with a flush draw, though the 6? turn changed nothing. The 9? river, however, was exactly what Bullimore needed as he made his flush to score a crucial double that left Thrash short.

Lu on a Heater

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Lingkun Lu had gone all in after the player next to him had put in 108,000 chips preflop. His opponent inquired after possible pay jumps before sticking in a call for his remaining chips.

All-in Player: Q?Q? All in
Lingkun Lu: A?10?

The A?6?3? board brought Lu top pair, and the J?4? runout could not save his opponent from his demise.
