2021 WSOP Day 21: Addamo Flying High In Yet Another High Roller

What an incredible day of poker Day 21 of the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was. We witnessed history being made as Adam Friedman denied Phil Hellmuth his 17th WSOP bracelet by winning the $10,000 Dealer's Choice event for the third consecutive year!

Elsewhere, the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship kicked off in style, the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha field was more than decimated, while Australian sensation Michael Addamo forged what looks to be an almost uncatchable lead in the star-studded $50,000 High Roller.

Addamo Looks Set For His Third WSOP Bracelet

Michael Addamo crushes high roller tournaments for fun online, and is now doing the same in the live poker arena. Addamo won the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl less than a month ago, a result that banked him $3,402,000, and now he looks set to reel in his third WSOP bracelet.

Addamo goes into the Day 3 of Event #38: $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller with more than twice as many chips as any of his opponents. The super-talented Australian has 11,475,000 chips in his arsenal, with Justin Bonomo in second place courtesy of his 4,975,000 stack.

Only five players remain in contention for the title and the second seven-figure score of the 2021 WSOP. Each is guaranteed $266,031.

Nine-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel (4,335,000) occupies third-place at the restart, with Gal Yifrach (3,160,000) and Chris Hunichen (405,000) making up the final five. It will take a minor miracle for Hunichen to lock up this event's bracelet because he only has four big blinds in his stack.

Arieh Bags a Million Chip Stack in the $1,500 PLO

Two-time bracelet winner Josh Arieh was the only player to bag one million chips in Event #39: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha. In fact, Arieh bagged up exactly 1,000,000 at the close of play.

PLO action tends to be fast and furious, and this was the case on this event's Day 1. Some 821 players bought in before late registration closed, but only 58 of those needed an overnght chip bag when the curtain came down after 14 long hours of grinding.

Arieh has done his chances of winning his third bracelet �� and his second in PLO �� no harm at all by finishing Day 1 in pole position. In form Ryan Leng (847,000) is right up there among the leaders, while such luminaries as Craig Varnell (566,000), former PLO Championship winner Jan-Peter Jachtmann (405,000), Ari Engel (394,000), and Ben Yu (128,000) are still in the hunt and will have a major say in where this tournament's bracelet ends up.

Pan Rides Off With $10K H.O.R.S.E Day 1 Chip Lead

Qinghai Pan is the man to catch after the first scheduled day of Event #40: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship. Pan finished the first day with 373,000 chips, more than any of the other 70 surviving players.

Pan eliminated Daniel Negreanu on his way to claiming the overnight chip lead in this stacked event. The $10K H.O.R.S.E. is known for attracting poker's superstars, and this edition was no different.

Scott Seiver (261,000) returns to the fray in second place while bracelet winners Randy Ohel (219,500), David Benyamine (219,000), Marco Johnson (218,000), and Jesse Klein (199,500) are in the top ten.

Further down the chip counts you find $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. runner-up Benny Glaser (184,500, reigning WSOP Player of the Year Robert Campbell (181,500), and a whole host of other WSOP champions.

Do not be surprised to see Adam Friedman and Phil Hellmuth buy in late because late registration remains open until the start of Day 2. Of course, Friedman and Hellmuth missed out on Day 1 due to battling for the $10,000 Dealer's Choice bracelet.
