In what might come as a surprise location to some poker fans, the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Tournament of Champions will run at the legendary Commerce Casino in Los Angeles May 22-24.

The event will take place during the May 10-24 World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) series, which ends the 2023-2024 season, just days prior to the start of the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas.

For years, the Commerce has been the home of poker in Los Angeles and one of the leading card rooms in the world, said Ty Stewart, Senior Vice President & Executive Director of the WSOP. We look forward to kicking off our new strategic relationship with a special WSOP Circuit finale and the Tournament of Champions bracelet event. We also look forward to qualifying more players from Los Angeles for the WSOP Main Event than ever before.

Commerce Circuit and TOC Details

Those who won Circuit rings throughout the year are eligible for the Tournament of Champions $1 million freeroll at Commerce. But there are other intriguing events on the schedule at the Southern California card room. That includes a series opening $600 Housewarming No-Limit Hold'em two-day ring event, which features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The WSOP Circuit Los Angeles Main Event, a $1,700 buy-in tournament, promises at least $1 million in the pot, one of two seven-figure events during the series. In total, there will be 18 gold rings up for grabs from May 10-24, with $1.75 million guaranteed overall (excluding the TOC).

During the final two days of action, the WSOP will be giving away $11,000 packages to compete in the 2024 WSOP Main Event at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas. The package includes a $10,000 seat into poker's most prestigious annual event, along with $1,000 for travel expenses. Last-chance satellite tournaments will take place at Commerce, with the winners receiving those valuable packages.

Ronnie Day won the Tournament of Champions last year in Las Vegas during the 2023 WSOP for $200,000. Benjamin Kaupp closed out the WSOP in 2022 by winning the tournament for $250,000, also at Horseshoe (Bally's at the time). But this year, the freeroll is moving a bit further west to Los Angeles and one of the most iconic poker rooms in the world.
