The Big Show Is No More

Steve Topakas
Steve Topakas
Steve Topakas has just committed his last chips preflop with {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} but the player in the small blind looked him up with a call holding {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

"Watch how lucky I get!" chirped Topakas before the {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop fell to give him the lead. However it was short lived as the {8-Clubs} hit the turn to complete a straight for his opponent. The river was another {10-Hearts} to rub salt into the wound as the long day of "The Big Show" comes to an end.

Great Scott!

Stewart Scott
Stewart Scott
Stewart Scott has gambled his way to a big stack after hitting a nice little two-outer on the turn to stack two opponents.

Scott called a raise preflop with pocket fives and another 2,000 on the {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop before spiking the {5-Diamonds} on the turn. The chips went flying and Scott's set was well in front of {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and a short stack's {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

The river bricked the {2-Diamonds} and Scott flies up to 19,000 chips.

"It was a dodgy call preflop, but I just wanted to GAMBLE!" laughed Scott as he raked in the chips.

Runner Runner Love For The Delaney Kid

Oh yeah! You have to be SUPER lucky to beat Delaney
Oh yeah! You have to be SUPER lucky to beat Delaney
Ben "CNT_Crusher" Delaney has made a flying start to this event. He would certainly be one of the chip leaders in this event so far.

Delaney is playing typical loose aggressive style. In this particular hand he led 500 on a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} holding {6-?}{7-?}. His opponent moved in for 4000 with {k-?}{k-?} and Delaney snapped with just the open ender.

It would be enough to ship the hand down with turn {6-?} and river {7-?} making him runner runner two pair.

Dodds Busto

Dodds: eliminated
Dodds: eliminated
Joel 'Strong Play' Dodds has been eliminated after he got the last of his short stack in the middle holding {Q-?}{2-?}, only to be called down by the {A-?}{K-?} of an unknown opponent.

The board blanked out and Dodds has flashed by the media centre on his way up to the exits.

Saab Screams Straight

Two of the more entertaining players on the local circuit, Andrew Jeffreys and David Saab have just collided on a flop of {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Jeffreys held the lead but Saab was up screaming for one of his outs holding {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the straight draw.

It delivered on the turn when the {4-Spades} fell to complete the straight. The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Saab doubles up to 10,000, leaving Jeffreys with 5,500.

Lost In Translation

Dennis Huntly just stopped by to let us know his run in the Bounty Shoot-Out is over.

According to Huntly he was up against a French player who made quite a big deal about putting his bet in. Thinking he had spied a tell that the guy was light Huntly made the call, only for the guy to have made his hand, with a bigger re-draw.

But as Huntly said "What can you do but pony up tomorrow". Huntly was last seen heading for one of the juicy cash games springing up in the room.

Double For Izzy

Fresh off his win in the Pot Limit Omaha event last night, Milan Gurung opened with a raise from the hijack position to 625 and the button made the call. Ismail Ismail then moved all in from the small blind for 4,325 in total, as did the player in the big blind for his last 800.

To further add to the complications, Gurung then announced he was also all in for all of his chips as the button decided it would be a good idea to step aside.

Gurung: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Ismail: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Big blind: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Ismail spikes a queen to scoop the pot and more than double up! He's up to 12,000 with Gurung slipping to 11,000.
