T-Hach Doubles

Tony Hachem is back to 3,600 after almost being out the door.

Tony found his {A-?}{9-?} all in against an opponent's {10-?}{10-?}.

Tony flopped a pair on the {4-?}{9-?}{2-?} flop, and turned trips with the {9-?} on the turn. The river blanked and Tony stays alive.

Pearson Punished By The PNC Champ

Nali Kaselias
Nali Kaselias
Matthew Pearson just recalled to us his elimination hand which saw him commit his short stack preflop with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

He found two callers who checked down the board of {9-?}{10-?}{6-?}{5-?}{5-?}. That board missed Pearson but it hit the 2008 PokerNews Cup champion in Nali Kaselias who flipped the {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for running trip fives to send Pearson packing!

So What's This Bounty Business?

You may be wondering what this bounty stuff is? Of course being the Tony G Celebrity Bounty Shootout there has to be a "Celebrity Bounty" element.

Basically the bounties are mostly well known and notable poker players wearing a lanyard with "Bounty" on it. If a player successfully knocks out a bounty they will win $500.

Players are free to knockout as many bounties as they want, so the successful bounty hunter could have quite a handy night regardless of whether they cash or not.

Tony G Loses Some Change

The "G" going strong!
The "G" going strong!
Preflop a player open-shoved for 2,300 and Tony G made the call in late position with {7-?}{7-?} only for the opponent to turn over {K-?}{k-?}.

The board was no help to Tony and he takes a slight hit to his stack. Amazingly we're two levels in and he has not yet delivered on his prophecy of busto early.

Ding Dong, The Dong Is Dead

Karamalikis: creamed!
Karamalikis: creamed!
The money was in the middle between Jonathon 'xMONSTERxDONG' Karamalikis and an unknown opponent with the board reading {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}-X-X.

We caught the action just as the cards were tabled; Karamalikis held pocket queens but his fate was sealed when the opponent tabled {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the flush.

The Dong's day is done.

Bullets Backfire

Ben Delaney
Ben Delaney
On a flop of {k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} Ben Delaney moved enough chips in to force his opponent into a decision for his tournament life.

The opponent called tabling {A-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Delaney rolled over his own {A-Spades}{5-Spades} for the nut flush draw.

The board obliged turning the {10-Spades} to give Delaney the hand and sent his opponent to the rail.

Delaney is up to 8,500 early on.

Tahtouh Taken Down

Emad Tahtouh was sent to the rail after moving his money in the middle on a flop reading {10-?}{10-?}{A-?} holdng {Q-?}{10-?}, but was in major strife against an opponent's {A-?}{10-?}.

The turn and the river blanked out and Tahtouh's day was done.

Hachem Takes A Hit

Hachem: when the going gets tough ...
Hachem: when the going gets tough ...
With the flop reading {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Hachem led out for 600 but found an unknown opponent moving all in. Hachem snap-called and the cards were rolled up:

Hachem: {A-?}{10-?}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The turn brought another jack to put the opponent in the lead; Hachem would be left with 'squadouche' when the river blanked out.

Toothpick Stuck

"Toothpick" Tony Kambouris has been scalped in the early skirmishes. The pick got it in with {3-?}{3-?} preflop and ran into a loose call with {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

The board got progressively worse for Kambouris as it went, coming {4-?}{5-?}{9-?}{6-?} and a {7-?} on the river to send him and his toothpick to the rail.
