Hand #94: Sorel Mizzi raised to 14,000 and Roger Hairabedian moved all-in behind him after making a big speech about playing big pots. Freddy Deeb called and Mizzi quickly folded.
Hairabedian:
Deeb:
"The cards have been good for you, two Aces, two Queens..." said Hairabedian.
"Don't cry now, cry when you have gone broke," Deeb replied. The two then wished each other good luck.
The flop came with the case followed by the and the .
"Ace for the sweat!" shouted Mizzi, giggling. The turn was the meaning Hairabedian was drawing dead and we never even got to see the meaningless river.
Short break before we go heads up.
After seven hands without showing interest at all, Gianni Giaroni suddenly woke up again on the big blind, after Freddy Deeb had raised preflop to 14k. True to form, his bet, when it came, was not a small one - he pushed in all four of his 25k plaques. As soon as they were over the line, Deeb announced, "All in," and received a swift call.
Deeb:
Giaroni:
"I knew it was gonna happen sooner or later," admonished Deeb, and they watched the board run out (at which point straights were mentioned)... . Hands were shaken and play resumed three-handed.
Preflop raises by either Freddy Deeb or Sorel Mizzi took every single one of these pots without much of a fuss.
Level: 9
Blinds: 2,000/4,000
Ante: 500
Who knows - there was some multilingual discussion before the first hand of the level was dealt which culminated in the TD suggesting a dinner break at the end of it. "No!" said Freddy Deeb, "Who wants a dinner break?" There didn't seem to be too much fuss either way among the players, but the TD countered, "The crew, etc. need a dinner break.."
"We'll see what happens this level," said Deeb, ominously, suggesting that the whole question may be moot in an hour.

Hand #82: Sorel Mizzi took down the blinds with a 9,000 raise.
Hand #85: Last hand of the level and it was taken down by a raise to 11,000 from Freddy Deeb.
We're now on another break, the blinds are getting fairly big now. Gianni Giaroni and Roger Hairabedian need to start playing more hands soon.
One hand prior to this {Hand #81) Freddy Deeb had threebet Roger Hairabedian out of the small blind, raising his 9k to 34k and taking the pot. This being four-handed, the very next hand the positions were reversed with button Deeb making it 9k to go and Hairabedian upping it to 34k in the blind. Deeb looked uncertain, and Hairabedian went down the schoolyard taunting route:"Chicken! Greedy chicken," he suddenly said.
"Maybe you are right," replied Deeb, but tossed in the call nonetheless.
The flop: Hairabedian now checked, and Deeb bet 18k after chewing gum pensively for a moment.
"My little chicken!" said Haireabedian, oddly. Call.
The turn brought the , another check from Hairabedian, and another bet - 22k.
"You are very strong in this hand," he said, before passing. Deeb then turned over two cards not visible from where we are sat, but it was clearly a bluff because Sorel Mizzi mentioned something about a straight draw.
"I might lose my chips but I don't lose my heart!" he announced, raking in the pot.
Hand #76: After a few hands were nothing interesting happening, Sorel Mizzi opened to 9,000 from UTG and Freddy Deeb called. The flop was , Deeb checked and Mizzi made it 13,500 to play. Deeb looked like he wanted to make a raise but then folded to the Canadian's monster stack.
Hand #77: Deeb opened to 11,000 from the button and Roger Hairabedian made the call.
"It's about time you came in the pot," said Deeb as the flop came which both players checked. The turn saw Hairabedian say, "My first bluff!" and he bet 15,000. Deeb made the call for them to see a river where Hairabedian bet 23,000 and Deeb quickly folded.
Hand #78: Mizzi raised to 9,000 from the button but Gianni Giaroni made it 27,000 from the big blind. Both checked the flop before Giaroni bet just 15,000 on the turn and Mizzi folded.
