WSOP Day 31: John Hennigan Among Chip Leaders in $10,000 Razz Championship

As the World Series of Poker reaches its 31st day, John Hennigan continues on a hot streak as he returns among the chip leaders in the $10,000 Razz Championship.

In the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, bracelet winner and November Niner Thomas Cannuli leads the field as the event moves into Day 2.

In the $1,000 Ladies championship, California��s Mesha James returns as chip leader with 104 women returning for Day 2.

Friday also brings around another online bracelet event with the $1,000 ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em Championship, and the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo also kicks off.

Event #54: Big Blind Antes $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em

A fourth day of play was added to this event and just four players return today. Barry Hutter is leading the way with 6,265,000 in chips. He��s followed by Portugal's Diogo Veiga (5,195,000), Bulgaria's Radoslav Stoyanov (2,495,000), and Day 3 runaway chipleader Jonathan Abdellatif (1,350,000).

Hutter has over $4 million in live tournament winnings and won a bracelet in 2015 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Shootout event for $283,546 payday.

The tournament resumes at 2 p.m. and PokerNews will have all the live updates until a champion rises to the top.

Event #55: $1,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold'em

A total of 1,032 teams leaped into action, creating a prize pool of $928,800. Only 20 teams return after Day 2 as this battle royal, er, tag team continues.

The team of Bon Koo and Bienvenido Caballero return as the chip leaders with 828,000 into the final day of play followed by: William Reymond and Ami Alibay (706,000); and Adam Lamphere, Ao Chen, and Yijie Zhang (705,000).

One team will take home bracelets and divide the first-place prize of $175,805. Others returning include: Salah 'Papa' Levy, Francis Mariani, and Cord Garcia (585,000); Loni Harwood, Haixa Zhang, and Kelly Minkin (480,000); and Ryan Laplante, Jack Hardcastle, Patrick Truong, and Kevin Gerhart (245,000).

Event #56: $10,000 Razz Championship

After the first day of play in this event, the total number of entries reached 119 with just 13 players remaining. Calvin Anderson leads the field with 962,000 chips and is followed by John Hennigan (841,000) and Alex Balandin (833,000).

Anderson has just over $1 million in WSOP winnings and is searching for his second bracelet. Registration remained open until the beginning of Day 2, and seven added entries boosted the field to 119, creating a prize pool of $1,118,600. The winner of this event will take home and top prize of $309,220.

Others advancing include Mike Leah (594,000), Dzmitry Urbanovich (592,000), Jerry Wong (529,000), Frank Kassela (252,000), Allen Kessler (238,000), and Paul Volpe (222,000).

Event #57: $1,000/$10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship

After 10 levels of play and 696 entries, 104 ladies made the money for a min-cash worth $1,497 and return to play on Friday. The winner takes home a top prize of $130,230 and a prize pool of $626,400.

Mesha James, of Corona, Calif., finished the day at the top with a stack of 130,200. With $70,072 total in live tournaments earnings, James has locked up the third WSOP cash of her career and looking for a deep run.

Following her are Vesna Kuzmanic (102,700), Jill Pike (94,300), Hana Cho (90,400), and Alexis Sterner (85,700). Others returning for Day 2 include Danielle Andersen (56,500), Lacey Jones (50,700), Melanie Weisner (47,000), Kristy Arnett (38,500), and Gaelle Baumann (37,000).

Defending champion Heidi May got eliminated on Day 1. Karen Xiyo and former PokerNews host Tiffany Michelle got eliminated in the same hand at different tables on the bubble, and split the min cash.

Event #58: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed

The shorted-handed action attracted 590 players on Day 1 with 203 returning for Day 2. Thomas Cannuli bagged the chip lead with 286,000. Cannuli finished in fifth place in the 2015 WSOP Main Event for over $1.4 million, and has a bracelet from the 2017 $3,333 Online Event.

Cannulli will be followed by Andrew Graham (214,300) and Julian Milliard-Feral (201,900). Some other player moving on to Day 2 include Romain Lewis (124,800), Jake Schindler (82,600), Parker Talbot (80,200), Toby Lewis (49,900), Robert Mizrachi (140,700), Jan-Eric Schwippert (129,200), Martin Finger (121,000), and Liv Boeree (114,800).

* Late registration is allowed until the beginning of Day 2, and so the field should grow on Friday.

Event #59: $1,000 No-Limit Super Turbo Bounty

The first event to get going today will be this one-day ��super turbo bounty�� event that is sure to provide some fast-paced play. A year ago in this event Rifat Palevic of Sweden outlasted a 1,867-player field in one long day to capture his first career bracelet and a first-prize of $183,903.

Like last year, the event will feature quick 20-minute levels with players earning $300 for every knockout bounty they collect. There will be a 20-minute break after every six levels, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 19 and a plan to play all of the way down to a winner tonight.

Cards go in the air at 11 a.m. for this one, so check with PokerNews starting then to follow this one all the way down to a champion.

Event #60: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship

The championship event of PLO Hi-Lo should bring plenty of rounders looking for some notoriety, a bracelet, and a nice cash prize. Bryce Yockey won this event in 2017 for $511,147. He also finished fifth in the $25,000 PLO High Roller version last summer for $270,242. Players begin with 50,000 starting chips and late registration is available until the start of Day 2. Levels last 60 minutes and the event gets underway at 3 p.m. PokerNews will have all the championship PLO Hi/Lo live updates.

Event #61: $1,000 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold'em Championship

Grab the laptop and focus on that trackpad, it��s time for another online bracelet at WSOP.com. This one-day event kicks off at 3:30 p.m. and allows for unlimited re-entries until 7:30 p.m. The tournament will be played entirely on the WSOP.com in both Nevada and New Jersey. Players will begin with 15,000 starting chips and 20-minute levels.

Event #6: $365 GIANT No-Limit Hold'em

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another flight of the $365 GIANT. Day 1e is on the schedule, the final flight with Day 2 set for Saturday. Here��s a look at the chip leaders of each flight:

Turner currently leads the field of 251 players from the total field of 4,573 entries so far. Players begin with 25,000 starting chips and play 21 levels of 20 minutes each. Play starts at 7 p.m. with late registration open for nine levels, which means registration closes around 10:20 p.m. PokerNews will have all the gigantic action right here.
